Global Technology Centre, Chennai is being established to provide high quality, scalable, cost effective IT services to the AstraZeneca global IT community. With a large pool of highly talented IT staff joining the centre in 2015, the centre will be very strategic in enabling AstraZeneca IT to achieve its overall objectives.  The leadership team of Chennai GTC (consisting of the AstraZeneca Chennai Site Lead, Tower Leads and Business Performance Lead) will focus on enabling the workforce to meet global organisational objectives of AstraZeneca IT - including ensuring high levels of service quality and delivery, as well as creating a Great Place to Work at AstraZeneca Chennai.  The Business Performance lead for Chennai GTC will be accountable to develop the strategy and measures to enable the Chennai centre to achieve its objectives in terms of quality, speed, efficiency, and service levels.

Key Accountabilities

  • Create and own assessment of all aspects of business performance in the functional area    
  • Create and design appropriate measures, evaluate metrics and outputs and report on business performance and trends so that the leadership team can understand business performance against key indicators, risks and actions to mitigate risks.    
  • Create and own the scorecard framework for the functional leadership team, ensuring that the measures are aligned to the strategic business priorities and provide a realistic overview of business performance against targets  
  •    Drive the annual process for developing and improving the functional scorecard, ensuring individual objectives are aligned to the scorecard measures    
  • Communicate performance and trends to the Leadership Team to identify risks at the earliest stage possible

Candidate Focus & Challenge  

  • Establishing and maintaining strategic working relationships with large and complex stakeholder groups    
  • Developing an in-depth understanding of business areas’ strategies and needs for the future from AstraZeneca Chennai    
  • Understanding demand trends and resource forecast decisions to ensure best outcomes for AstraZeneca    
  • Business performance for the tower, creating and defining appropriate measures, evaluating metrics and outputs, reporting on performance and trends, risks and actions to mitigate risks

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:   

  1.  Board knowledge and experience of IS/IT activities    
  2. Experience of applying Benefits and Value Management techniques in a Business performance context    
  3. Strong customer service orientation  
  4.  Strong relationship building and communication skills    
  5. Good change management and problem solving skills  
  6.  Ability to work well in and across diverse, global teams and proven ability to influence others to achieve positive outcomes 

Desirable:     

  • MBA or advanced degree    
  • Knowledge of industry qualifications and standards   
  •  Budget and line management experience    
  • Knowledge of new and emerging business performance management approaches and application  
  •  Able to communicate the potential impact of developments in the IT marketplace on organisations and individuals internal and external to IS
