The National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS) is an autonomous institution of Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, for a mandate of basic research, teaching & training, and as a national repository for cell lines/hybridomas etc. The centre is located in the midst of academically enriched environment of University of Pune Campus, Pune. Project Scientist - 01 post
Name of the Project / Principal Investigator : “Developing bank of human induced pluripotent stem cells for drug screening. Disease modelling and understanding disease biology”./ Dr. Anjali Shiras
Upper Age limit : 40 Years
Qualification & Experience : Essential: M.Tech/M.D./MVSc or equivalent degree from recognized university with five years of research experience in Recombinant protein expression and purification Or Ph. D. degree in any branch of life Science. A minimum of two research papers in Science citation Indexed (SCI) Journal is required.
Desirable : Stem cell biology with relevant publications.

Desirable : At least two year experience as a JRF in membrane protein expression and purification from transiently transfected or baculovirus infected mammalian cells is required for this post. Proficiency in gene cloning, Mutagenesis, Protein expression, protein refolding & purification. We are looking for a motivated young scientist trained in protein biochemistry, advanced molecular biology and X-ray crystallography who will contribute to the project substantially and independently.

Important Guidelines & Instructions
• Applications in the prescribed format duly filled in along with attested copies of all relevant certificates showing date of birth, educational qualifications, work experience, details of the exam passed (Secondary School Certificate onwards), caste certificate, if any and other relevant documents should reach “The Director, National Centre For Cell Science (NCCS), S. P. Pune University Campus, Post: Ganeshkhind, Pune – 411 007, Maharashtra, India on or before 09.07.2018.
• List of shortlisted candidates called for interview, date and time of interview & other relevant information will be published on our institute website on or before 27.07.2018.
• The interviews are scheduled on 16-17 August, 2018
• Applications received after the due date/due to postal delay and/or without the copies of the required certificates/documents will not be considered. Applications which are incomplete and/or not in the prescribed format will be strictly rejected.
• The Director, NCCS reserves the right to enhance/reduce the number of posts and also cancel the recruitment process.

• The above advertised positions are filled up purely on temporary basis for the limited time period on the extramural projects funded by DBT/DST/CSIR/ICMR/SERB/Wellcome Trust-DBT/Government and private organizations. • Age & Experience will be relaxed in exceptional cases by the Competent Authority. Fellowship/Emoluments for RA/SRF/JRF: Emoluments to the research personnel engaged under project will be made in accordance with the DST O.M. No, ^R/S9/Z- 09/7012 dated 21.10.2014 or depending on the respective project sanctioned orders issued by funding agency.
• Age limit will be considered as on closing date of receipt of application. Age relaxation of 5 years in case of SC/ST/Women/PlI candidates and 3 years in case of OBC candidates will be given as per Government of India rules. Reservation as per Govt, of India norms will be followed.
• No TA/DA will be admissible for attending the interview.
• Canvassing in any form and/or bringing in any influence will be treated as disqualification for the post.
• The posts advertised shall be need based without any commitment for its filling.
