Objective·

To establish and lead a high-performance sales team, and act as business expert for all sales-related processes with full P&L responsibility for the Pharma Solutions business in South Asia.
• To be responsible for all activities related to conceptualizing and implementing strategy in order to achieve business growth and support company objectives. Specific responsibilities include annual and short-termed sales plans, business and market development, market research and planning, operational excellence, strategic direction for promotion and advertising, leading account managers, establishing sales targets to meet company objectives, and partnering with other related management teams, e.g. customer service, supply chain, logistics, product management, marketing,
• R&D as well as technical service to report into this position (included in the 5 direct reportees) ensure the best possible services and effective communications to customers.
• To provide operational and local leadership for dedicated employees in South Asia, give input on local personnel development and succession planning.
• To visibly live and communicate the BASF identity and culture, communicate and implement the regional and local Code of Conduct.

Main Tasks
• Execution of Sales Excellence.
• Strengthen opportunity finding and drive growth opportunities through effective sales pipeline management in close collaboration with the technical service team.
• Provide operational leadership and strategic inputs to sales, technical service/application laboratories, marketing, supply chain, and product management regarding business development, market intelligence, sales excellence. • Ensure adequate allocation of resources and availability of market data.
• Responsible for Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) compliance. Participate in CSR Projects.
• Represent BASF to improve company image in general forums as well as specific pharma associations.
• Actively represent and support objectives and interests of the Business Unit, both internally and externally.
• Develop and implement HR / personnel plan for the team and contribute to personnel development. Develop relations and maintain ties with technical institutes and universities who have a direct connection with the business.
• Support of business management, investments and alliances. Identify regional innovation potential in cooperation with various stakeholders/partners. Provide input and support the development of joint ventures, affiliations, partnership arrangements, and M&A activities.

Candidate Profile
• Education: University degree or above; preferred Master of Pharmacy; minimum Bachelor Degree in Business Management
• Working Experience: Minimum 15 years in total with at least 10 years’ experience in commercial roles in pharma business or related industries with a proving track record of developing business
• Technical & Professional Knowledge: skills in pharmaceutical technology and operations as well as being familiar with pharma related quality standards (GMP) is preferable; ideally, experience in key account management
• Business acumen, industry network and experience in leading large teams
