The Birla Institute of Technology & Science, BITS Pilani is an all-India Institute for higher education. The primary motive of BITS is to "train young men and women able and eager to create and put into action such ideas, methods, techniques and information". The Institute is a dream come true of its founder late Mr G.D.Birla - an eminent industrialist, a participant in Indian freedom struggle and a close associate of the Father of Indian Nation late Mr. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma Gandhi).

Professor
Eligibility :
• PhD in a relevant discipline from an institution of high repute (with 1st Div. at ME/MPhil/MPharm/MBA/Pre Ph.D. qualification level)
• At least 10 years post?PhD experience in teaching and/or research, of which at least 4 years at the level of an Associate Professor, or equivalent
• Sustained excellence in teaching, research and sponsored R&D
• Potential for leadership in research, education and institution building
• At least 20 publications (of which 10 are in journals of international repute)
• Guided at least one PhD student independently (alternatively guided two PhD students jointly with someone else)
• Completed at least two sponsored R&D projects each of value Rs. 5 lakhs or more as PI (alternatively completed one sponsored R&D project as PI of value Rs. 5 lakhs or more and completed two sponsored R&D Project as a co?PI each of value Rs. 5 lakhs or more).
Entry Basic Pay : Rs. 173900
Dearness Allowance : 17% of Basic Pay (Normally aligned with Central Govt. announcement)
Annual Increment : As per Pay matrix at 3%
Professional Development Fund : Rs. 1 Lakh per year
Research Initiation Grant : One-time RIG of Rs. 2 Lakh+ 10 Lakh of “competitive RIG” to select individuals through an Institute-wide call
Relocation Allowance : Baggage shifting and travelling expenses of self and family upto Rs. 50000/- within India and upto Rs. 1 Lakh for joining from abroad
Contributory Provident Fund : Employee & Employer contribution of 12% of Basic + Da Per month
Gratuity : As per “Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972”
Medical Coverage  : Reimbursed to an extent of 90% of the expenses incurred as per BITS Medical policy (including parents if dependent)
Children’s Education Allowance : Tuition fees paid for studies up to class 12 is reimbursable, subject to certain limits
On Campus Housing : At prescribed nominal license fee
Leave Travel Allowance : The institute meets 100% of the actual fare both for the onward and return journeys as per eligibility of travel once in a cycle of two years for visit to Home town.
Vacation Leave : 60 days paid vacation per academic year
Other Leave : Casual Leave (15 days per year), Special Casual Leave (15 days per year), Half Pay Leave, Commuted Leave, Sabbatical Leave, Extraordinary Leave etc. as per Leave rules of the Institute

Associate Professor
Eligibility :
• PhD in a relevant discipline from an institution of high repute (with 1st Div. or 60% at ME/MPhil/MPharm/ MBA/Pre Ph.D. qualification level)
• At least 6 years post PhD experience in teaching and/or research, of which at least 3 years at the level of an Assistant Professor, or equivalent
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching, research and sponsored R&D
• At least 10 publications (of which 5 are in journals of international repute)
• Guided at least one PhD student (independently or jointly with someone else)
• Completed at least one sponsored R&D project of value Rs. 5 lakhs or more as PI (alternatively completed two sponsored R&D projects as a co-PI each of value Rs. 5 lakhs or more).

Assistant Professor
Eligibility :
• PhD in a relevant discipline from an institution of high repute (with 1st Div. or 60% at ME/MPhil/MPharm/MBA/Pre Ph.D. qualification level). We also accept exceptionalapplications who are awaiting Ph.D. defence only for some select Engineering Departments as per the need of the Institute.
• Potential for excellence in teaching and research
• Normally 4 publications (of which 2 are in journals of international repute).
Entry Basic Pay : Rs. 101500
Dearness Allowance : 17% of Basic Pay (Normally aligned with Central Govt. announcement)
Annual Increment : As per Pay matrix at 3%
Professional Development Fund : Rs. 1 Lakh per year unused amount to be carried forward to next year
Research Initiation Grant : One-time RIG of Rs. 2 Lakh to all individual + 10 Lakh of “competitive RIG” to select individuals through an Institute-wide call

Assistant Professor (Off Campus)
Eligibility
• PhD in a relevant discipline from an institution of repute (with 1st Division or 60% throughout).
OR
• ME (or equivalent) from an institution of repute (with 1st Division or 60% throughout).
• Minimum of six (6) years relevant experience in academics / industry, with potential for academic excellence and a passion for teaching.
OR
• ME/MS/MTech/MPhil/MPharm/MBA or equivalent in relevant discipline from an Institution of high repute (with 1st Division or 60% throughout) with potential for excellence in Teaching. (To be considered for Assistant Professor (Off-Campus), Grade-II in Academic Level-10, refer)

Applications received by 24th. Jan 2021 will be processed immediately. It is desirable that one has at least one year of Post-Doctoral experience. Such cases will be fast-tracked. However, this may be relaxed for exceptional candidates in the disciplines like CSIS ONLY.
