Fellowship opportunity in Department of Pharmacology in PGIMER

The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) Chandigarh was conceived in 1960 as a center of excellence which would endeavour to develop patterns of teaching in postgraduate medical education in as many branches as possible and attempt to produce specialists in several disciplines of medicine. It was also envisaged that these specialists would spread out in the country in various medical colleges and medical institutions and impart medical education of highest standard to the students and set up nucleus of excellence in their own institutions. The PGIMER was also given the responsibility to broaden the horizons of medical knowledge by intensive research in the field of health.

Applications are invited for a walk-in interview from highly motivated candidates for the post of Senior Research Fellow in an ICMR funded project as per details given below.
Senior Research Fellow : 1 position

Essential Qualifications : First Class Master’s Degree in Pharmacology/ Life Sciences from a recognized university along with two years research experience or M.Pharm / MBBS/BDS.
Desirable : Preference will be given to NET/GATE/ equivalent examination qualified candidates and those with relevant project-related experience. Experience in conducting clinical research is highly desirable. Please note that selected candidates will be expected to work round the clock for the purpose of the study that involves patients with trauma and head injury.
Upper Age limit : As per ICMR/institute rules. Relaxation will be given as per GOI rules.
Remuneration : As per ICMR guidelines.

The engagement in the project is purely on a temporary basis maximum for the period of duration of the project. Please note that it is not a PGIMER/ICMR, New Delhi appointment and will not confer any right on the incumbent to any claim implicit or explicit on any position.

This interview will be conducted in Room No. 4001, Department of Pharmacology, Research Block -B, 4th Floor, PGIMER Chandigarh - 160012 at 11:00 am on 31st December, 2025 Interested candidates fulfilling the above conditions should appear ‘in person’ for interview along with original certificates/ degrees/ marksheets and attached filled application form.

No separate interview letters will be sent. No TA/DA will be paid. Candidates are encouraged to provide letter of recommendation from previous employers/ mentors in support of their application.
