During that time with the help and support of Dr. B.C. Roy an eminet physician and then chief minister of West Bengal, the foundation of the present day Chittaranjan Cancer Hospital(CCH) was laid.The hospital was formally inaugurated by Prof. Madam J.Curie in January 2,1950 and named after Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das, as a tribute to and in the acknowledgment of the enormous donation of his land and property for the cause.Initially this was a Cancer treatment centre, which gradually expanded its activities in basic and clinical research with the assistance from goverment funding organzations.This eventually led to the founding of the Chittaranjan National Cancer Research Centre (CNCRC),funded by the Goverment of India in 1957, which was committed to basic research on cancer.

Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute (CNCI), Kolkata invites application for filling up of nine (09) vacant posts of Junior Research Fellows (JRFs)

No of Posts :  UR: 4 (including 1 PWD), SC: 2, ST: 1, OBC: 2.
Tenure of posts : 3 years (yearly renewal basis) on satisfactory performance
Essential Qualification : MSc in any branches of Life Science / Chemistry / Biophysics / Pharmaceutical Science with more than 55% marks (for General and OBC) and 50% marks (for SC / ST/ PWD candidates) from any UGC-recognized University / Institute along with NET / GATE or other equivalent National Level Exams conducted by Central Government Departments.
Age limits : 28 years as on the date of publication of the advertisement. (Relaxable for SC/ST/OBC/Physically Handicapped (PWD)/ Women candidates for five years as per Govt of India rules subject to production of suitable certificates from the competent authority.
Fellowship : Basic pay: Rs. 25,000/- plus admissible HRA and Medical allowances as per rules.
