R. C. Patel Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (RCPIPER) is a NAAC accredited, NBA re-accredited and AICTE/ PCI approved Pharmacy Institute which was established before 25 years under the aegis of The Shirpur Education Society. RCPIPER proudly flaunts its excellent infrastructure, well furnished air-conditioned classrooms, ultramodern research laboratories, CPCSEA registered animal house, drug screening and evaluation facilities, cell culture laboratory, molecular modelling software, pilot plant for Pharmaceutical manufacturing, QA/QC department. Through this workshop we wish to share the new advances in the field of pharmacological data acquisition and modern trends in the experimental and molecular pharmacology with the teachers, students and research fellows of other Institutes.

About Department of Pharmacology
The department has flourished into a centre of academic excellence. The department has well experienced staff of 2 professors, 2 associate Professors and 6 assistant professors. Three of these faculty members are approved PhD guides and are actively involved in the Pharmacological research and have substantially contributed Pharmacological sciences in the form of more than 80 research publications, novel teaching aids, and alternatives to animal use and have fetched more than 90 lakh rupees research grant from different funding agencies.

The department is well equipped with ultramodern research facilities with approximate investment of 1.5 Crore rupees. It includes cell culture laboratory (Class 10000 aseptic area), CO2 incubator, Microplate spectrophotometer, inverted fluorescence microscope, CNS pharmacology laboratory (AnyMaze video tracking system, Stereotaxy apparatus, complete setup for immunohistochemistry, digital miscroscopy system), Autacoid Pharmacology laboratory (Digital Plethysmometer, Digital Von-Frey Apparatus for tactile allodynia measurement), CVS screening laboratory (Powerlab Data acquisition system), Respiratory Pharmacology laboratory (Hugo-Sacch Whole Body plethysmography), isolated tissue setup (I-Worx digital data acquisition system) and a CPCSEA registered animal house facility.
