The Institute of Microbial Technology, a constituent establishment of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India, wishes to recruit Research Associate/ Project Assistant/ JRF on temporary basis to work in DBT/DST funded projects in this Institute as per details given below. Apart from the candidate selected in the project, a panel will be made, which will be operative for a maximum period of one year from the date of interview or another interview is conducted by the Institute for recruitment of similar positions in future, whichever is earlier.

Research Associate - (05 position) for DBT/DST funded Project
Essential Qualification: PhD (Thesis submitted/awarded) in Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Cell Biology, Genetic Engineering, Zoology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Animal Sciences, Pharmacology, Bioinformatics, Chemical Sciences/ Environmental Science, with sufficient working experience in Immunology/ Molecular Biology/ peptide synthesis/ M.Tech. in Pharm. Biotechnology.
Desirable: Practical experience in handling small experimental animals, mammalian tissue culture, working with pathogens like Mycobacterium tuberculosis, computational biology and sufficient exposure of analytical/ immune clinical techniques. Experience in the area of biocatalysis.
Stipend: Rs. 22,000/-plus HRA @ 20%
Age limit: 35 years as on 26.07.2013

Project Assistants – (04 positions) for DBT/DST funded Project
Essential Qualification: 1st Class M.Sc in Life Sciences, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, Zoology, Cell Biology
Desirable: Practical research experience in the areas mentioned above and knowledge of confocal microscopy.
Stipend: Rs. 16,000/-, Rs. 12,000/-, Rs. 10,000/-, Rs. 8000/- depending upon sanction of sponsoring agency.
Age limit: 28 years as on 26.07.2013

JRF (Projects) – (02 positions) for DST funded Project
Essential Qualification: 1st Class M.Sc in Life Sciences, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology,
Desirable: Practical research experience in the areas mentioned above.
Stipend: Rs. 12,000/-p.m.
Age limit: 28 years as on 26.07.2013

The engagement as a Research Associate/Project Assistant/JRF (Project) in the projects is purely on temporary basis maximum for the period of duration of the project. However, appointment will initially be offered for a period of one year and will be extended yearly basis till the duration of the project depending on the satisfactory performance of the incumbent. The appointment can be terminated by either side by giving one month’s notice. Total duration of project fellowship/ assistantship in CSIR Laboratories is maximum of 5 years. Therefore, if an incumbent switches between the projects, the appointment will terminate on the day he/she completes 05 years as a Project Fellow. Please note that it is not an IMTECH/ CSIR appointment and will not confer any right of the incumbent to any claim implicit or explicit on any position. Number of positions may vary.

Such of the candidates who fulfils the eligibility conditions may please Walk-in-interview on 26.07.2013 (Friday) at 09.30 A.M. (Sharp) in the Seminar Hall of this Institute along with complete bio-data duly signed affixed with latest passport size photograph and also enclosing photocopies of certificates/testimonials in support of date of birth, qualification/ experience etc. Original certificates are also to be produced at the time of interview. No TA will be paid for attending the interview.

Note: Result awaited and Thesis submitted candidates are not eligible for interview and Candidates turn up after 11.00 A.M will not be allowed.
