Post: Senior Scientist
Responsibilities
• Propel development and application of cutting-edge predictive modeling, DoE, machine learning and biostatistics across sites, technologies and R&D phases in Bayer Crop Science (BCS)
• Independently oversee, define and realize new functional modeling opportunities within BCS-R&D, with the primary goal to create tangible value
• Drive continuous improvement in methodology, processes and formats through own expertise and experience and by collaborating with external research institutes
• Lead R&D Computational Life Science (CLS) project teams consisting of experts from various functions and regions
• Ensure operational implementation of projects according to agreed objectives, budgets and timelines
• Advise R&D organization in general on functional modeling possibilities and drive CLS supported experimental design
Candidate Profile:
• PhD in natural sciences with focus on application of functional modeling, DoE and/or biostatistics to answer biological questions within life science R&D with outstanding scientific track-record
• Detailed understanding of life science R&D and model-based substance development across technologies and phases
• Several years of experience and proven track-record in biological modeling and computational life science
• Drive to challenge existing processes and making a difference
• Very good ability to work in teams with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Fluent written and oral communication skills in English and German
