Job Description
Lead and drive operational and functional excellence across IIS functional groups by fo-cusing on one or more of the following areas:
•Common processes, practices, and systems to ensure efficiency, quality, compliance and financial support (including definition, implementation and tracking of metrics/KPIs)
•Review and consolidation of project resource requirements across IIS functions. Define internal and external sourcing strategies solutions to best utilize IIS functional capabilities and meet the clinical programs goals in line with departmental budget.
•Hiring, on boarding, and training programs for IIS functions to attract and develop talents.
•Knowledge management, communication, and innovation
The IIS Scientific Operations Associate Director will be responsible to lead and provide strategic direction for one or more of the clusters below.
Common process, practices, and systems
1.Address gaps in processes, practices, systems, compliance and training through lessons learned, communication of best practices, review/monitoring of metrics and industry/regulatory guidelines
2.Designs and implements corrective actions and change initiatives by fully utilizing and aligning subject matter experts
3.Represent IIS on internal training and SOP governance boards
4.Working with functional leadership, define and track KPIs/metrics to drive desired performance and stretched goals for the functions with a focus on time, efficiency, productivity, and compliance
Review and consolidation of project resource requirements across IIS functions, and resourcing
1.Lead portfolio review and consolidation of project resource requirements across IIS functions in collaboration with functional and project management leadership and make strategic recommendations.
2.Support needs and priorities through review of broad holistic plans, and more detailed clinical project operational plans (e.g. trials, submissions)
a.Planning and tracking of resources utilization
b.Resource gap analysis
3.Define and lead strategic internal and external sourcing solutions to meet clinical projects needs according to business priorities and in line with departmental budget.
•Internal resource deployment and reallocation across projects and functions
•Outsourcing
-Drive outsourcing strategy to meet clinical projects needs
.Manage outsourcing budget
Hiring, on boarding/training
1.Ensure on-boarding and training programs are in place so that IIS is adequately trained and fully compliant on processes at all sites
2.Lead and direct IIS global hiring efforts
3.Lead Training in the areas of:
•New hire and refresher training
•Process and functional training (formal process, plus lower level training)
•Oversees organization of on-site course/conferences and adequate representation at external events (in collaboration with functional leadership)
