Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara University, also known as JSS University, is a deemed university located in Mysore, Karnataka. It was established in 2008 under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 and is part of JSS Mahavidyapeetha, which runs a variety of educational institutions. This deemed-to-be university is recognized by both MHRD and NAAC at A Grade, has been focusing more on teaching, research and service , from its inception. Siddha Central Research Institute (SCRI) is the pioneer institute for research established in the year 1971 to spin in all spheres of Siddha Research such as Clinical Research, Drug Development and Literary research.  It is governed by Institutional Human Ethics Commitee, Institutional Animal Ethics Commitee and having adequate infrastructure and various departments like Clinical research, Pharmacognosy, Phytochemistry, Pharmacology, Literary research and Pharmacy. This institute is located in the campus of Arignar Anna Government Hospital of Indian Systems of medicine at Arumbakkam, Chennai.  This institute is instrumental in getting the Patent for Psoriasis and is a referral centre for Psoraisis. Recently this institute has published a patent for Poly herbal drug D5 Chooranam useful for newly detected Type 2 Diabetes.
