Government of Gujarat has established Gujarat State Biotechnology Mission (GSBTM) as a nodal agency to develop overall development of biotechnology in the state in 2004. Major activities of GSBTM is promoting research and development in the field of biotechnology and supporting the development of biotechnology industries in the state.

The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research (NIPER), Hyderabad is an Institute of National Importance establishedby an Act of Parliament under the aegis of the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India.

The Tata Medical Center (TMC) is a multispecialty institution for tertiary cancer care based in New Town, Kolkata. At TMC, clinical and research activities are integrated to provide state-of- the-art care for patients with cancer. The National Dope Testing Laboratory (NDTL), an autonomous body, Government of India, is a premier scientific institute and one of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)-accredited Laboratories dedicated to human sports dope testing & allied research. This is the only Laboratory of its kind in the country having state-of-the- art facilities. It is equipped with the latest and sophisticated analytical equipment including LC-Orbitrap-HRMS, LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS, GC/C/IRMS, etc.

The Institute of Liver & Biliary Sciences (ILBS) has been established by the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi as an autonomous institute, under the Societies act. The mission of ILBS is to become a dedicated international centre of excellence for the diagnosis, management and advanced training and research in the field of liver and biliary diseases.  The first phase of ILBS is already functional having 180 hospital beds, 74 of which cater as intensive care (ICU) beds.

The National Institute of Nutrition is an Indian public health, nutrition and translational research centre located in Hyderabad, India. The institute is one of the oldest research centres in India, and the largest centre, under the Indian Council of Medical Research, located in the vicinity of Osmania University.
