Ph.D. Programme Admissions June - 2025 at NIBMG. NIBMG is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies which include single-cell sequencing, spatial omics and next generation sequencing platforms, robotics platforms, high-end computational and bioinformatics facility, cell and molecular biology facilities, genetic engineering including cutting-edge CRISPR-Cas genome editing laboratories.
Centre offers a doctoral programme leading to the award of the PhD degree to students holding a post-graduate degree or an equivalent) in any field of science, medicine, or technology. The selected students undergo coursework followed by research leading to a doctoral thesis under the mentorship of a faculty.
All the full-time Ph.D. students admitted into the Ph.D. program will receive fellowship up to a maximum of five years. The fellowship could be from the Institute or Sponsored Projects. Ph.D. students may also have their own fellowship if qualified through UGC/CSIR NET.

The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), which is now known as Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GOI) has established the National Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent, autonomous, and self-sustained premier testing organization under the Societies Registration Act (1860) for conducting efficient, transparent and international standards tests in order to assess the competency of candidates for admissions to premier higher education institutions.
A need was felt to establish a nationally cohesive, interdisciplinary Ph.D. programme in biosciences to expand the scale of generating highly skilled, globally competitive human resource. It was envisioned that the trained human resource produced through this programme would be better equipped to provide bioscience-based pioneering solutions to contemporary problems relevant nationally and globally.
