ABSTRACT
The aim of present study was to evaluate antihelmintic potential of crude extract of root of Butea monospermous using Pheretima posthuma as test worm. Butea monosperma is distributed all over India and has been used by triable as well a local people widely. Popularly known as 'dhak' or 'palas', commonly known as ‘Flame of forest’. It has been found to have antimicrobial, wound healing, antifungal, antidiarrhoeal, hypoglycemic, hepatoprotective, antioxidant, anti-convulsive, antistress, anti diabetic, anti-inflammatory activity. It also used in treatment of goiter, spermatorrhoea and antidote for snake bite. In the present work the aqueous and alcoholic extracts of flowers of Butea monosperma were evaluated for its antihelmintic activity against adult earthworms (Pheretima posthuma).

ABSTRACT:
This is the novel approach for enhancing dissolution and bioavailability of BCS-II class drugs. Solubility is the major problem in the development of pharmaceutical dosage forms. Liquisolid technique is the novel and promising technique to overcome these problems. The liquisolid systems are to improve the dissolution properties of water insoluble agents. For enhancing the dissolution rates for water insoluble drugs we used carrier and coating materials like microcrystalline cellulose (Avicel), silica (Aerosil), sodium starch glycolate and magnesium stearate etc. These agents can significant effect on dissolution properties of water insoluble drugs.

Abstract
The objective of the study was to develop an effective formulation of mebendazole chewable tablets. Mebendazole is a benzimidazole derivative with broad spectrum anthelemthic activity and excellent tolerability. Orally it is rapidly absorbed and metabolized tohydroxy  andhydroxyamino, which may be responsible for its anthelmenthic action. It is widely used in the treatment of worm infestations in both humans and animals. Mebendazole chewable tablets (200 mg) were prepared by three methods viz. non aqueous granulation, aqueous granulation and direct compression and were named as NAG, AG and DC respectively. Tablet prepared by these three methods were evaluated by different parameters such as average weight, hardness, carr’s index, tapped density, friability, disintegration, content uniformity test, in-vitro dissolution etc. All the parameters were found within the specifications. The study on the dissolution profile revealed that product ‘DChad faster dissolution rate while compared to remaining batches and marketed product. Assay values were within the limits of 90% to 110%.

ABSTRACT:
The antitumor activity of the ethanolic extract of leaves of boerhaavia diffusa L. (EBD) has been evaluated against Dalton’s ascitic lymphoma (DAL) in Swiss albino mice at the dose of 250 & 500 mg/kg, body weight. The experimental parameters used were tumour volume, tumour cell count, viable tumour cell count, mean survival time and increase in life span to assess antitumour activity. The extract administered orally for 14 consecutive days to tumor bearing group of animals. The extract increase the life span of DAL treated mice and restore the hematological parameters as compared with the DAL bearing mice in dose dependant manner. The study revealed that the EBD showed significant antitumour activity in tested animal models.

ABSTRACTS
The aim of presents study is to evaluate antidiabetic (Hypoglycemic) effect of Gymnema Sylvestre extract in alloxan induced diabetic Swiss albino mice. These aqueous extract were used for the study. The Swiss albino mice weighing 25 to 30 gm were used for the study.  Mice were administered orally with the aqueous extracts of Gymnema Sylvestrewith dose of 200 mg/kg, 400 mg/kg and 500 mg/kg. body weight from period of day 1 to 28 days. The study reveals that the all the three doses shows the significant decrease in blood glucose level. This study shows the significant activity of gymnema sylvestre extracts against alloxan induced diabetes.  These prove the guava fruit is pancreatic protective and hypoglycemic in nature.

Abstract
Osmotic devices are most promising strategy based systems for controlled drug delivery. These are among the most reliable controlled drug delivery systems and could be employed as oral drug delivery systems or implant able devices. Osmotic pumps offer many advantages over other controlled drug delivery systems, i.e. they are easy to formulate and simple in operation, improve patient compliance with reduced dosing frequency and more consistent and prolonged therapeutic effect with uniform blood concentration. Drugs can be delivered in a controlled pattern over a long period of time by the process of osmosis. Osmotic pumps consist of an inner core containing drug and osmogens, coated with a semi permeable membrane. As the core absorbs water, it expands in volume, which pushes the drug solution out through the delivery ports. This article highlights the principle of osmosis, materials used for fabrication of pumps, types of pumps, advantages, disadvantages, and marketed products of this system.

ABSTRACT
The present study was undertaken to explore the phytochemical screening & antimicrobial activity of stems of Glycyrrhiza Glabra L. (Leguminaceae). Glycyrrhiza Glabra L. were screened for their antimicrobial activity by agar well diffusion method, standard screening method & disc diffusion method. In the phytochemical screening showed presence of secondary metabolites, flavonides, glycosides & terpenoids. It is also showed potent against almost all the test organism.

Study indicate that Glycyrrhiza Glabra has antibacterial, antioxidant, antimalerial, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory and anti-hyper glycemic properties. Various other effects like antiulcer, antiviral, antihapatotoxic, antifungal and herpes simplex have also been studies. One of the most commonly reported side effects with licorice supplementation is elevated blood pressure.

ABSTRACT
The objective of present study was to evaluate in vivo anti-diarrheal potential ofCinnamon leaves. Sample was analyzed for quantities estimation of photochemical and anti-diarrheal activity of aqueous leaf extract, at 100, and 200 mg/kg body weight (b.w) was investigated using castor oil induced model. The aqueous leaves extract of Cinnamon leaves (100, and 200 mg/kg body weight) was administered orally to three groups of rats (five animals per group) in order to evaluate the activity of the extract against castor oil-induced diarrhea model in rat. Two other groups received normal saline (5mg/kg) and Loperamide (2mg/kg) as positive control. The effect of the extract on castor oil-induced diarrhea, gastrointestinal transit and intestinal fluid accumulation (enter pooling) was assessed respectively. In this study, the phytochemical analysis of aqueous leaves extract of Cinnamon leaves revealed the presence of alkaloids, terpenoids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins and phenols. At oral doses of 100, and 200 mg/kg body weight, the plant extract showed pronounced significant (p<0.05) antidiarrhoeal activity compared to the control group. No mortality and visible signs of general weakness were observed in the rats following the extract administration of up to a dose of 2000 mg/kg. The results showed that the aqueous leaves extract of Cinnamonleaves has a significant antidiarrhoeal activity which supports its use in traditional herbal medicine practice.

IN-VITRO SCREENING OF DHATURA INOXIA FOR ITS ANTI-MALARIAL ACTIVITY AGAINST P. FALCIPARUM

ABSTRACT
The natural products are important source of biologically active compounds having potential for developing a novel malaria drug. Malaria is one of the most important infectious vector born parasitic disease caused by Coccidian protozoan parasite of genus Plasmodium carried out by mosquito, invade red blood cells. Malaria is thousand times more complex than any disease. In the current study, a natural ingredient of herb; Dhatura Inoxia is analyzed, for its anti-malarial activity by preparing crude extract of water and ethanol, analyzed on schizont stage of plasmodial life cycle against two Chloroquine strains: sensitive and resistant of Plasmodium falciparum isolates. The results revealed that IC50 values of crude water extract was recorded as; 71± 1.41µg/ml and 105±7.07 while as the ethanol crude extract produced IC50 concentrates: 52±3.53 µg/ml and 59.5± 70 µg/ml against sensitive and resistant P. f. isolates, respectively. The results showed that this herb plant possess significant antiplasmodial activity in terms of IC50 as recorded in this study.
