    Mizoram University was established on 2nd July 2001 by the Mizoram University Act, 2000 which appeared in the Gazette of India (Extraordinary) on 25th April, 2000 as a Central University having His Excellency, the President of India as its Visitor. The objectives of the University, as laid down in the Act are "to disseminate and advance knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities in such branches of learning as it may deem fit, to make provisions for integrated courses in humanities, natural and physical sciences, social sciences, forestry and other allied disciplines in the educational programmes of the University; to take appropriate measures for promoting innovations in teaching-disciplinary studies and research; to educate and train man-power in the development of the state of Mizoram.

    Applications are invited from eligible candidates for Junior Research Fellow (JRF)/ Senior Research Fellow (SRF)/ Research Associate (RA) for CSIR, New Delhi funded Major Research Project on ‘Characterization, Documentation and Bio prospection of Lichens from Murlen National Park, Mizoram’.
