Rashtriya Kishor Swasthya Karyakram- RKSK Programme Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has launched a new adolescent health programme in Jan 2014– Rashtriya Kishor Swasthya Karyakram (RKSK) which was earlier run as Adolescent Reproductive and Sexual Health (ARSH) Programme. The main objective of the Programme is to improve the health and well being of adolescents.

The Directorate of Advertising & Visual Publicity (DAVP) is the nodal agency to undertake multi-media advertising and publicity for various Ministries and Departments of Government of India. Some of the Autonomous Bodies also route their advertisements through DAVP. As a service agency, it endeavours to communicate at grass roots level on behalf of various Central Government Ministries.  The origin of DAVP can be traced to the times of World War-II. Immediately after the out-break of Second World War, the erstwhile government of India appointed a Chief Press Advisor. Besides other things, advertising was also the responsibility of the Chief Press Advisor.

This hospital was started in Koraput district as Dispensary in 1908 in an Old Building. It was upgraded to Local Fund Hospital in 1937 with 47 beds. It was shifted to the present building on 25.10.2004 with 188 functional beds. Now it has 300 functional beds.  Based on the scheme of Government of India, Government of Odisha has decided to upgrade this hospital into Medical College Hospital in view of benefit of patients not only in the undivided Koraput district but also other backward districts like Kalahandi, Nuapada as well as the two neighbouring states of Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. This hospital is now named as Saheed Laxman Naik, Medical College Hospital, Koraput, Odisha.

Dr. Homi Jehangir Bhabha conceived the Nuclear Program in India. Dr Bhabha established the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) for carrying out nuclear science research in 1945. To intensify the effort to exploit nuclear energy for the benefit of the nation, Dr Bhabha established the Atomic Energy Establishment, Trombay (AEET) in January 1954 for multidisciplinary research program essential for the ambitious nuclear program of India.
