    Nalanda educational society was established in the year 1991. The objectives of the society are to impart quality education to all aspirant students irrespective of caste, creed and religion and to promote education in the backward area of Nalgonda district. The society felt impelled to start Pharmacy College as there is no such college in Nalgonda district and due to ever increasing demand for the course in the district.

  • Pharmacy Council of India has not approved of 2nd Shift courses in colleges

    The Pharmacy Council of India is a statutory body constituted under section 3 of the Pharmacy Act, 1948.  The Council is empowered to prescribe minimum standard of education and to approve courses of study and examinations for the purpose of qualifying for registration as a pharmacist under section 10 & 12 of said Act.

  • PCI warns pharmacy colleges planning to launch 2nd shift for B Pharm

    The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), the statutory body governing the pharmacy education in the country, has warned against the move by some of the institutes to start a second shift for pharmacy courses. PCI said that it would not approve such courses or students taking such courses as per the Pharmacy Act, 1948.

  • PCI to meet health ministry seeking amendment in Pharmacy Act, 1948

    In an effort to pursue its demands on amending the Pharmacy Act, 1948, by taking the latest changes in the sector into consideration, the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) is envisaging a meeting with the Union Health Ministry, probably in the second week of April.

  • PCI clarifies its notification on MS not specific on NIPER's course

     Entailing the ongoing controversy over the recognition of Master of Pharmacy (MS) programme offered by National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Mohali, Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has come out with a clarification that the NIPER's MS programme has not been specifically commented anytime by the council and is not an issue under the consideration of the body.

  • Diploma in Pharmacy, D.Pharm

    A diploma means folded paper. It is a certificate or deed issued by an educational institution, such as a university, that testifies that the recipient has successfully completed a particular course of study, or confers an academic degree. In countries such as the United Kingdom and Australia, the word diploma refers to a level of academic award. Diploma in Pharmacy is a first stage of pharmacy in India. D.Pharm was introduced in India to develop base of pharma field in India.
