    NIPER is the fifth such Institute to be included in the list of premier Institutes under the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India.     A Walk-In-Interview is proposed to be conducted on 18.09.2017 at 9.00 AM – 10.00 A.M. to fill up the following posts on Temporary basis under the adhoc projects. The verification will be only from 9.00 A.M. to 10.00 A.M. and the Interview/Examination will follow at 11.00 A.M.     The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur was established in the year 1960. The Parliament of India passed the ‘Institutes of Technology Act 1961’ declaring all the IITs as “Institutions of National Importance”. The Parliamentary Act has given absolute autonomy to the IITs. When the foundation stone of the IIT system was laid, it was perceived that taking help from the industrially advanced western countries might be lot more effective in achieving the status of a world class technical institute. Hence, IIT Kanpur had a massive collaboration with USA through a specially created programme- KIAP (Kanpur Indo American Programme)

    The Centre has taken up research on scientific validation of Herbal and Traditional Medicine, through studies in phytochemistry, efficacy, safety, mode of action and clinical evaluation of herb, its ingredients and traditional formulations, as the thrust area. NITM (formerly known as RMRC) is also involved in studies on prevalence of various diseases at regional level, and lending active support to the State health authorities in investigation of outbreaks, laboratory confirmations, as well as providing infrastructural support and expertise in the relevant fields of interest. Furthermore, NITM (formerly known as RMRC) Belagavi is serving as a nodal Centre for execution of various Task Force projects and Schemes of the ICMR and DHR.

    This Institute came into existence on 1st April,1976 when the India Centre of JALMA was officially handed over to the Govt. of India and subsequently to the Indian Council of Medical Research. This was named as Central JALMA Institute for Leprosy in 1976 and has been renamed as "National Jalma Institute of Leprosy and other Mycobacterial Diseases" in 2005 to reflect its broader research areas. This Institute was originally established as "India Centre of JALMA" in 1966 and was managed by a Tokyo based voluntary organisation -JALMA (Japanese Leprosy Mission for Asia). This Institute is one of the fine examples of international human links and compassion for each other.
