The Pharmacy department of BITS Pilani is one of the few early schools of Pharmacy in India. Established in 1950, under the able leadership of (Late) Prof. M. L. Schroff, Father of Pharmacy Education in India, it blossomed into one of the most sought after Schools of Pharmacy in India due to its broad-based education system and university-industry linkages, which is the hallmark of BITS, Pilani.
In the year of 2011, the Department of Pharmacy has completed 60 years of its existence as a premier ins titution in the field of Pharmacy Education and Research in India and abroad. Alumni are well placed in India as well as abroad in various pharmaceutical companies, government organizations like drug control, research laboratories, etc., and in several well-known academic institutions.

NABL is a signatory to Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (APLAC) and International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) since 2000. As a result of these MRA’s, test / calibration reports of NABL accredited laboratories are considered equivalent to the reports issued by accredited laboratories in 60 countries.
NABL has been growing exponentially by scaling up in number of accredited laboratories in existing areas and adding new areas of accreditation to keep pace with the science and technology. To meet this expansion, we wish to recruit outstanding candidates who can realize the management practice and structure to cope with the expansion.

At the Repository of Tomato Genomics Resources, we are working on Tomato Functional Genomics, using TILLING, Insertional Mutagenesis, Exome Capture, Genome Editing, proteomics and metabolomics approaches to study fruit ripening in tomato. The current aims of the group include using reverse and forward genetics strategies to isolate tomato mutants delayed in ripening, having high lycopene and folate content in tomato fruits and analysis of light and hormonal signal transduction pathways.

Currently, we have following positions available in the projects “Manipulation of light signaling components for improvement of tomato fruit quality” and “Interaction between proteome and metabolomic networks during tomato fruit ripening” awarded to Dr. Y.
