Government of India has set up six new National Institutes of Pharmaceuticals Education and Research (NIPERs) under the aegis of Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Department of Pharmaceuticals, at Ahmedabad. Guwahati, Hyderabad, Hajipur, Kolkata and Rae Bareli. These are presently being run with the help of Mentor Institutes. The Institutes are required to be established on their own.

NIPER is the first national level institute in pharmaceutical sciences with a proclaimed objective of becoming a centre of excellence for advanced studies and research in pharmaceutical sciences. The Government of India has declared NIPER as an ‘Institute of National Importance’.

NIPER, Rae Bareli at ITI campus, Rae Bareli under the mentoring Institute of Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow invites applications for engagement of following position on purely temporary basis on contract initially for a period of 1 year which can be extended further. The selected candidates shall have no claim for regularization against any regular post either in NIPER or CDRI.

NIPER-S has set up a dedicated Small and Medium Pharmaceutical Industry Centre (SMPIC) to serve SME Pharma sector. The objective of the centre is to help SME Pharma to attain the global standards. SMPIC provides forums where manufacturers, regulators and suppliers can come together to discuss common interest, achievements and new technologies. SMPIC is well-known for its trainings and educational programs.

The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), SAS Nagar, Punjab and Bristol Mayers Squibb are jointly organising an international symposium on ‘Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK)--Applications toward Drug Discovery and Development’ from February 11 to 13 at the NIPER premises.
