Mira Bhainder Municipal Corporation was established on 12 June 1985, after which four Gram Panchayats namely Raimurdhe, Dongri, Uttan and Versova were incorporated on 23 January 1990. Around this municipality from Dahisar Checknakya directly Sanjay Gandhi National Park Vanrai, Ghodbunder Fort, Vasai Bay, Uttan, Gorai Beach is a total of 79.40 sq km.
