The Regional Drugs Testing Laboratory, Chandigarh is the one of the six National Laboratories of the Govt of India functioning under the administrative control of the Drug Controller General (India), Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation, Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. The Laboratory has been established for quality control of Drugs and Cosmetic under the Indian Drugs & Cosmetics Act 1940. This laboratory is engaged in the analysis of bulk drugs & formulations referred by the Deputy Drugs Controller (India), Assistant Drugs Controller (India) and Drugs Inspectors from CDSCO North Zone, Ghaziabad, CDSCO Sub-Zone Chandigarh and CDSCO Sub-Zone Jammu.

The promulgation of Employees' State Insurance Act, 1948(ESI Act), by the Parliament was the first major legislation on social Security for workers in independent India. It was a time when the industry was still in a nascent stage and the country was heavily dependent on an assortment of imported goods from the developed or fast developing countries. The deployment of manpower in manufacturing processes was limited to a few select industries such as jute, textile, chemicals etc. The legislation on creation and development of a fool proof multi-dimensional Social Security system, when the country's economy was in a very fledgling state was obviously a remarkable gesture towards the socio economic amelioration of a workface though limited in number and geographic distribution. India, notwithstanding, thus, took the lead in providing organized social protection to the working class through statutory provisions.

Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, is a Central University of India, located in Bilaspur C.G. State, established under Central Universities Act 2009, No. 25 of 2009. Formerly called Guru Ghasidas University (GGU), established by an Act of the State Legislative Assembly, was formally inaugurated on June 16, 1983.  GGU is an active member of the Association of Indian Universities and Association of Commonwealth Universities. Arulmigu Kalasalingam College of Pharmacy was established in the year 1988 in a serene campus surrounded by scenic mountainous setting at Krishnankoil. The college is located 65 kms south of Madurai and 10 kms north of Srivilliputhur on Madurai- Senkottai National Highway. The college is built in an area of 230 acres with all infrastructure facilities. This centre which was started by ICMR basically to solve problems in blood banking, slowly branched out successfully to initiate research in various other related areas of immunohaematology viz. biochemical genetics, red cell enzymopathies and hemoglobinopathies, population genetics, antenatal serology, Immunology, HLA etc. In the first twenty five years, using limited space, limited resources and budget, talented and highly enthusiastic young scientists from the center under the guidance of dynamic stalwarts Dr. H M Bhatia and Dr. A J Baxi could produce as many as 271 publications of which 71 were published in prestigious international journals. The centre had many discoveries to it's credit. Seeing this progress, ICMR decided to rechristen BGRC as 'Institute of Immunohaematolgy' at the time of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the Institute in 1982 to accommodate all the departments of the centre under one roof.
