Summer Research Scholarships projects in Anthropology, Applied Language Studies and Linguistics, Art History, Classics and Ancient History, Development Studies, English, Drama and Writing Studies, European Languages and Literatures, History, Latin American Studies, Media, Film and Television, Pacific Studies, Philosophy, Politics and International Relations, Sociology and Theology.

British Council, India in collaboration with Department of Science and technology (DST) and Department of Biotechnology (DBT), India are pleased to invite applications for funding to support short-term PhD placements between the UK and Indian institutions.
The programme will sponsor UK and Indian PhD scholars to spend a period of their study (2 to 4 months) in Indian and UK higher education institutions between April to December 2017. Through this opportunity, scholars will learn new research skills or techniques, develop international training pathways, access facilities or resources which may not be readily available in their home country and build relationships with potential new collaborators, including industry partners where relevant. The CIC-B is sponsored by Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), Govt. of India.

The NGS Scholarship is awarded to talented students with an aptitude for innovative, high calibre PhD research.

The SERB-National Post Doctoral Fellowship (N-PDF) is aimed to identify motivated young researchers and provide them support for doing research in frontier areas of science and engineering. The fellows will work under a mentor, and it is hoped that this training will provide them a platform to develop as an independent researcher

The program is now open for new applications. We offer 16 PhD positions in Life and Natural Sciences. More PhD positions financed by work contracts may be offered depending on availability.

The deadline for applications is 1 May 2016.  References should be uploaded until 3 May 2016. Additions/corrections (see below) can be submitted until late September. The time between selection for interviews and the interview symposium is rather short (for organisational reasons). If you need a passport to travel to Germany and you don't have it yet please already arrange for getting one or make sure that obtaining passport and visa can be done between 10 May and 30 June 2016.
