Rubicon Research Limited has received one observation in a Form 483 issued by the United States Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) following an unannounced inspection of its manufacturing facility in Satara, Maharashtra.
The inspection was conducted from October 5 to October 9, 2026, at its facility located in Additional MIDC, Satara, Maharashtra. The company stated that the observation is procedural in nature and does not relate to data integrity. Rubicon Research expressed confidence in working closely with the US FDA to complete the evaluation process in a timely manner.
Rubicon Research stated that a successful inspection outcome would mark the first successful unannounced US FDA inspection of its Satara facility. The site's previous US FDA inspection took place in January 2023, when the company had received prior intimation. The latest inspection is part of the company's broader regulatory inspection activity across its global operations.
Rubicon Research stated that the Satara inspection would represent its third successful unannounced US FDA inspection in FY 2026–27, subject to a successful outcome.
The company referred to two other inspections conducted during the financial year:
Toronto, Canada: Inspection of the company's research and development facility in April 2026.
Pithampur, India: Inspection of its manufacturing facility in July 2026.
Additionally, the US FDA inspected Rubicon Research's recently acquired manufacturing facility in East Brunswick, New Jersey, in May 2026, shortly before the company acquired the facility in July 2026.
A Form FDA 483 is issued by the US FDA when investigators identify conditions that may violate applicable regulatory requirements during an inspection. The issuance of a Form 483 does not, by itself, constitute a final agency determination of non-compliance.
Rubicon Research has described the Satara facility's single observation as procedural and clarified that it does not concern data integrity. The final regulatory outcome will depend on the company's response and the US FDA's subsequent evaluation.
