The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) was established on 1 November 1973 as an independent recruitment agency in pursuance of the recommendations of the Gajendragadkar Committee.
The board is charged with the responsibility of recruitment of Scientists and to such other posts and services as may be specified by the President, ICAR from time to time through competitive examinations / direct recruitment by selection etc. as the principal mandate to make available the best human resources to man the various positions in ICAR in the country.
Senior Scientist (Economic Botany) (One Post)
Qualifications Essential: Doctoral degree in Economic Botany / Botany with specialization in Economic Botany / tissue culture / Pharmacognocy including relevant basic sciences with 4 years experience in the relevant subject as Scientist / Lecturer / Extension Specialist or in an equivalent position in the pay scale of 8000-13500 (Pre-revised) having made contribution to research / teaching / extension education as evidenced by published work / innovations.
Desirable: Specialization and experience in working on oilseed crops.
Senior Scientist (Biochemistry) (One Post)
Qualifications Essential: Doctoral degree in Plant Biochemistry/ Chemistry/Botany with specialization in Biochemistry including relevant basic sciences with 4 years experience in the relevant subject a Scientist/Lecturer/Extension Specialist or in an equivalent position in the pay scale of ` 8000-13500 (Prerevised) having made contribution to research/teaching/extension education as evidenced by published work/innovation.
Desirable: Specialization and experience in working on oilseeds crops.
Senior Scientist (Animal / Fish Nutrition) (One Post)
Qualifications Essential: Doctoral degree in Animal/Fish Nutrition/ Biochemistry/Fisheries/Zoology/ Aquaculture with specialization in Animal/Fish Nutrition including relevant basic sciences with 4 years experience in the relevant subject as Scientist/Lecturer/Extension Specialist or in an equivalent position in the pay scale of ` 8000-13500(Prerevised) having made contribution to research/teaching/extension education as evidenced by published work/innovations.
Desirable: Specialization and relevant research experience in fish nutrition/feed formulations etc.
Senior Scientist (Biochemistry-Plant Science) (One Post)
Qualifications Essential: Doctoral degree in Biochemistry including relevant basic sciences with 4 years experience in the relevant subject as Scientist/Lecturer/Extension Specialist or in an equivalent position in the pre-revised pay scale of ` 8000- 13500 having made contribution to research/teaching/extension education as evidenced by published work/innovations.
Desirable: Specialization in biotechnology of abiotic stress management.
