Walk-in: Work at G. B. Pant Institute of Himalayan Environment and Development as Senior Research Fellow, Junior Research Fellow, Consultant & Field Research Assistant

 

G. B. Pant Institute of Himalayan Environment and Development was established in August 1988, at Kosi-Katarmal, Almora, as an Autonomous Institute of the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India. The Institute is identified as a focal agency, to advance scientific knowledge, to evolve integrated management strategies, demonstrate their efficacy for conservation of natural resources and to ensure environmentally sound development in the entire Indian Himalayan Region (IHR). Apart from undertaking research and technology development and/or demonstration on its own, the Institute has established linkages with National and International Organizations committed to environment and development linked issues in the mountain regions.

Applications are invited for project based temporary position(s) under different R&D projects. The selected candidates will be appointed initially for a period of one Year and extention may be granted based on performance. Candidates having appropriate qualification in relevant subject/specialization with consistently good academic record and experience are encouraged to apply.

In House No. 2 project entitled “Developing sacred landscape model for eco-restoration and biodiversity conservation in the central Himalayan region” working area- Lohaghat, District- Champawat

Position(No.)/ emoluments
Senior Research Fellow (1) Rs. 14000/- pm + HRA *Initially up to 31st March 2012
Essential Qualification
First class Master degree in Plant Physiology/Botany/ Forestry/Soil Science+2 year’s research experience after post graduation.
Desirable experience/ Duties
Experience of handling Porometer/Leaf and Soil Water Potential system/Infra-red Thermometer/WET Sensor & Moisture Meter, etc.

Junior Research Fellow (1) Rs.12000/-pm + HRA *Initially up to 31st March 2012
