National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health (NIRRH), formerly known as Institute for Research in Reproduction is a premier research institute of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). It is situated in the vicinity of a number of hospitals and research institutes in central Mumbai. Since its inception in 1970, it has been making vigorous efforts to improve the reproductive health of people through research, education and health care services.
Application are invited from the eligible candidates for filling up the following posts at NIRRH, Parel, Mumbai under the Administrative control of Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi.
Post: Technical Assistant (Computational Biology)
Salary: Pay Band-2, Rs. 9300-34800 + Grade Pay Rs. 4200/-

Qualification:
Essential:
Three years Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/ Biological Sciences with two years experience in Computational Biology/ Bioinformatics OR Three years graduate degree in Computer Science/ Biological Science with two years diploma in relevant discipline from a recognized University/ Institute.
Desirable:
Post Graduate degree in Computer Science/ Bioinformatics with at least two years working experience in using bioinformatics packages, development of databases and websites, networking (LAN) etc. at reputed institution.

AGE:
i) Govt. Servant/ in service candidates will be allowed 5 years relaxation. OBC, Ex-Servicemen and PWD will be allowed relaxation as per GOI rules from time to time. Age will be reckoned as on 12 th October 2012.
ii) OBC candidates are directed to submit the caste certificate as per GOI instructions latest by 3 years old as on date of publication of this notification from the state respective Mandal Revenue Officer/ Thasildhar, in the format “Certificate to be produced by other backward classes applying for appointment to posts under the Government of India.”
iii) Candidates working (as on the date of notification) on Long Term Projects in ICMR Institutes/ Centres will be given “One Time” age relaxation.

Benefits of new restructured defined contributory pension system are admissible as per the provision contained in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Economics Affairs (ECB & PR Division), Notification No.5/7/2003-ECB & PR dated 22-12-2003 effective from 01.01.2004.
The selected candidates pay will be fixed as per Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure notification dated 29 th August 2008, under section II Table.

Printed copy of the filled application form should be submitted alongwith a Demand Draft/IPO for Rs.25/- (No application fee for SC/ST/PH candidates provided they submit supporting document) drawn in favour of “Director NIRRH Mumbai” to The Director, National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health, Jehangir Merwanji Street, Parel, Mumbai – 400012, so as to reach on or before 12 th October 2012. Envelope should be superscribed Sr. No. and the post applied for.
Application should be submitted in the prescribed format only, incomplete/ late applications or without demand draft will not be entertained. Applications received after the last date will not be considered. Employed candidates should submit their applications through proper channel and not directly to NIRRH, Mumbai. The Director of the Institute reserves the right to reject the applications or to cancel the notification without assigning any reasons thereof. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for Test/ Interview and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
