Job Description:
Key Accountability
• Coordination & support purchase related activities including capital expenditure and routine operations of site.
• Ensure proper execution of Purchase order and receipt of material on time.
• Manage site chemical (pharmaceutical and Analytical) inventory.
• Coordination and Support to Import related activities.
• Coordination with Finance for Monthly outstanding liability of R&D.

Functional Description
• To co-ordinate for all purchases and purchase related activities for chemicals, raw materials, equipments and instruments etc, required on of site.
• Vendor identification, negotiations, getting quotes from approved vendors. Initiate rate contracts, support annual maintenance contracts (AMCs). Preparation of shopping carts leading to generation of Purchase order.
• Follow up with vendors, Receipt and verification of received materials for physical damage/pricing as per agreed rate contracts. Creation of GRNs and coordination for release of payments.
• Manage site inventories like glass wares, chemicals, solvents. Raw materials, excipients and packaging materials.
• Participates in the upkeep of laboratory in order to meet GMP and Novartis standards.
• To fulfill additional responsibilities given by the manager as and when needed.


Candidate Profile:
Educational Requirements
B.Pharm, M.Pharm, B.Sc, M.Sc; Masters / Graduate Degree(s) in chemistry or commerce or related disciplines with or equivalent experience in handling purchase and site inventory management.

• Degree in commerce with specialization in materials management/ Purchase.
• Hands on experience of MS office, creative understanding of Windows (98,2000)
• MS- office (MS word, Excel, Power point, foxpro), Tally 5.4
• SAP and Oracle
• Knowledge of Pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturer is desirable.
• Experience in or knowledge of chemistry.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, in English. Good math skills.
• Ability to think logically and draw valid conclusions.
• At more senior levels positions require an advanced degree or equivalent experience and knowledge, and ability to apply scientific methodology to solve difficult problems. Should be creative and show initiative.
