The Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute (VPCI) is a unique postgraduate medical institution devoted to the study of chest diseases. It is a University of Delhi maintained institution and is funded entirely by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The institute is ideally located in the heart of the main campus of the University of Delhi, providing the requisite academic environment. The Institute fulfills the national need for providing relief to large number of patients in the community suffering from chest diseases. It has eminently discharged its role and has earned a unique place in the field of Chest Medicine.

Applications are invited from Indian Nationals for the following posts in a three-year research project (jointly awarded to Department of Chemistry and VP Chest Institute) entitled “Calcium phosphate nanoparticles co-encapsulating neuro therapeutic gene and drug for targeted therapy of neurodegenerative disorders”, sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.

1. Junior Research Fellow (JRF) (at the Department of Chemistry, University of Delhi):
Minimum qualifications: M.Sc. in Chemistry with minimum 60 % marks from a recognized University/Institute. Candidates with NET/GATE or having one year of research experience in the relevant field will be preferred.
(Monthly salary: Rs. 16,000/- + 30% HRA for 1st and 2nd years and Rs. 18,000/- + 30% HRA for 3rd year).

2. Project Assistant (at the VP Chest Institute, University of Delhi)
Minimum qualifications: M.Sc. in Chemical or Biological Sciences, with minimum 55 % marks from a recognized University/Institute.
(Monthly salary: Rs. 8,000/- consolidated).
