University of Pune, one of the premier universities in India, is positioned in the North-western part of Pune city. It occupies an area of about 411 acres. It was established on 10th February, 1948 under the Poona University Act. The university houses 46 academic departments. It is popularly known as the 'Oxford of the East'. Applications are invited for one positions of Research Associates at Institute of Bioinformatics and Biotechnology (IBB), University of Pune.

Position: 1 Research Associate Post (1 SC*),
Funding: Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India, New Delhi, India.
Fellowship: Rs. 20,000/- per month (consolidated)
Period: 1 year (2011-2012)

Qualifications: Ph.D. Degree in Molecular biology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Life Sciences with first class or equivalent GPA of the credit-based system at M.Sc. Evidence of research experience in the above specialization. Preference will be given to candidates who have published in peer reviewed journals of high impact factor. Applications on plain paper with detailed bio-data, with recent passport size photo, relevant research experience and references of publications, testimonial from research guide along with attested copies of mark sheets, degree certificates and caste certificates should be addressed to, Professor B.A. Chopade, Director, Institute of Bioinformatics and Biotechnology (IBB), University of Pune, Pune 411 007 so as to reach on or before Monday, 11th July 2011. * If suitable candidates from SC category are not found, then candidates from open category would be appointed against SC category. Short listed candidates will be informed by email. Interviews will be held on Friday, 15th July 2011 at 10.00 a.m. in IBB. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interviews.
