The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi, the apex body in India for the formulation, coordination and promotion of biomedical research, is one of the oldest medical research bodies in the world.
As early as in 1911, the Government of India set up the Indian Research Fund Association (IRFA) with the specific objective of sponsoring and coordinating medical research in the country. After independence, several important changes were made in the organisation and the activities of the IRFA. It was redesignated in 1949 as the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) with considerably expanded scope of functions.
Applications are invited for the following purely temporary post on a consolidated salary in the Division of ECD
Post: Research Scientist I (equivalent to Scientist ‘B’) (Non Medical)
Qualification Essential: First Class Masters Degree in Life / Biological Sciences or relevant biological subjects with 2 years experience OR relevant biological discipline subjects with Ph. D / Second class Masters Degree in Life / Biological Sciences or relevant biological discipline subjects with Ph.D
Job Requirement: Candidate will be required to work in area of communicable diseases with senior scientists
Age: Not exceeding 35 years (As on 31.12.11)
Salary: Rs.36, 540/- per month (consolidated)
Duration: The engagement of the individual in the above post would be on contract basis co-terminus with the duration of the project and would be engaged initially for one year but the period their engagement may be curtailed/extended at the sole discretion of the competent authority.
The post is to be filled up on purely temporary contract basis. The appointment is terminable with one month notice from either side. The incumbent selected will have no claim for regular appointment; no of PF, LTC and medical claim etc. are admissible. No. TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
