Post: Senior Scientist - Biology (Immunology)

Job Description:
The successful candidate for this Senior Scientist position will be required to design, develop, and implement hypothesis driven experiments related to ocular inflammation in both in vitro and a variety of in vivo models. Ocular inflammatory models will be implemented to determine immunological mechanisms that are responsible for disease and screening of potential novel therapeutic treatments. The candidate must have a background in immunology in relation to models of inflammation.  Experience in a pharmaceutical company or work with inflammatory in vivo models in an academic setting is required.  The successful candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced, team oriented environment while still maintaining a high standard of scientific excellence.

Desired Profile:
Ph.D. level education in immunology or pharmacology
The candidate must have a proven record of success as demonstrated by publications, presentations and academic and preferably pharmaceutical experience.   
3-5 year post-doctoral or pharmaceutical experience
The candidate must be able to take direction, work independently on scientific projects, and work well in a team environment.
In-depth knowledge of immune-mediated inflammation and understanding of the current literature
Excellent writing, presentation, organizational and communication skills   
Ability to supervise subordinates in conducting laboratory experiments, prioritizing critical, time-dependent experiments, and processing the generated information.
Data must be analyzed in a timely fashion, working knowledge of statistical methods is essential, and formatting data for immediate presentation
