Bristol-Myers Squibb Biocon R&D Center (BBRC) is a collaboration between Bristol-Myers Squibb and Syngene International, a subsidiary of the Indian biotechnology major, Biocon. Position: Sr. Research Associate / Research Investigator / Sr. Research Investigator / Principal Investigator

Job Description:
The selected candidate will be a part of and/or lead a number of scientists in the Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics  (MAP) group, focused on non-clinical pharmacokinetic and metabolism of new chemical entities, in support of various drug discovery programs. Depending on the position, he/she will design and conduct appropriate in vivo or in vitro ADME studies, represent the department at various discovery working group meetings, suggest and implement strategies and tactics to address PK/PD/ADME related issues and ultimately enable program decision-making in the selection and advancement of high-quality drug candidates from discovery to development. The incumbent will collaborate with a broad group of scientists across various disciplines in the discovery organization.

Candidate Profile:
Hands-on experience and training in the areas of non-clinical pharmacokinetics (PK), pharmacodynamics (PD) and/or drug metabolism are required. These include, but are not limited to, PK and PK/PD study design and data analysis, drug metabolism concepts and assays, enzyme kinetics, etc. Hands-on experience in conducting in vitro and in vivo studies to assess the ADME of discovery compounds (cell culture, metabolic stability models, CYP inhibition etc.) required. For senior positions, a demonstrated experience supporting lead optimization programs, and preclinical candidate characterization to enable studies towards regulatory submissions like IND is necessary. Strong problem solving and leadership skills are required. In addition, excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and spoken) are mandatory in order to perform in a matrix team environment.

Qualification: MS / MPharm / PhD

Experience: 0-10 years of relevant industry experience
