Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is charged with health policy in India. It is also responsible for all government programs relating to family planning in India.
The ministry is composed of two departments: the Department of Health and Family Welfare and Department of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homoepathy). It regularly publishes the Indian Pharmacopoeia since 1955 through Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) an autonomous body under the ministry for setting of standards for drugs, pharmaceuticals and healthcare devices and technologies in India

Post: Senior Scientific Officer

Subject: Recruitment to the post of Senior Scientific Officer (Toxicology), Central Drugs Laboratory, Kolkata Directorate General of Health Services in PB-3 (Rs.15600- 39100) and Grade Pay Rs.6600/ by Deputation- Reg.

It is proposed to fill up the vacant post of Senior Scientific Officer (Toxicology), Central Drugs Laboratory, Kolkata under the Directorate General of Health Services in the revised pay structure Fay Band-3 Rs.15600 -39100 and Grade Pay Rs.6600/- by Deputation from Officers of the Central / State Governments
(a) (i)   Holding analogous posts or
(ii)   With 5 years service in posts in Pay Band-3(Rs.15600-39100) with
Grade Pay Rs.5400/- or equivalent; or
(iii) With 8 years service in posts in Pay Band-2(Rs.9300-34800) with Grade Pay Rs.4G00 or Equivalent, and in addition, the candidate has to fulfil the educational and other qualifications prescribed for direct recruits as under:


Essential
(i) M.Sc Degree in Physiology or Pharmacology of a recognized University or equivalent ;
(ii)   8 years experience in Research and testing in the field of Toxicology Desirable: Doctorate degree in the subject concerned

[Period of deputation including period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organization/department of the Central Government shall ordinarily not be exceeding three years. The maximum age limit for appointment on deputation (ISTC) shall be not be exceeding 56 (fifty six) years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.]


The officer selected on deputation will have the option to draw his scale of pay plus deputation (duty) allowance in accordance with the Department of Personnel & Trg's O.M. No. 6/8/2009-Estt. (P.II) dated 17.06.2010 as amended from time to time.

For the purpose of appointment on deputation basis, the service rendered on a regular basis by an officer prior to 01.01.2006 shall be deemed to be service rendered in the corresponding grade pay or pay scale extended based on the recommendations of the Pay Commission except where there has been merger of more than one pre-revised scale of pay into one grade with common grade pay or pay scale where this benefit will extend only for the post(s) for which that grade pay or pay scale is the normal replacement grade without any upgradation.
2.  The Ministries/Departments of the Government of India/State Governments are requested to circulate the above posts amongst the officers in their Attached/ subordinate/field offices for giving wide publicity.

The up to date ACR dossiers for the past five years from 2006-07 to 2010-11, Integrity certificate, Vigilance clearance, Statement of major/minor penalty imposed, if any, during the last ten years and cadre clearance must also be enclosed along with the applications.
