Job Description:
Primary responsibilities of the position will be to manage both “in-house” testing as well as all third party lab qualifications. The position requires thorough knowledge of Abbott policies and government regulations as they pertain to foods for special dietary use including proprietary foods and infant formula. The individual would also be responsible for leading lab capacity building initiatives which would require strong collaboration with both private and public lab stakeholders. The strategic direction will be focused on proactive laboratory qualifications and capacity building for modernized standard methods to avert label disputes. If disputes occur, this position will leverage all of its resources, both internal and external, to satisfactorily resolve quickly.

Candidate Profile:
• Min 3 years experience with proven track records managing a laboratory, public or private and min 5 years experiences in nutritional and food analysis.
• Breadth of experience with modern analytical methods of analysis, e.g., ICP, HPLC, LC-MS/MS, capillary GC, Near IR, etc.
• Experience with Indian Food Safety and Standard Act and International standards for foods for special dietary use
• Affiliations with Professional Societies or Committees, e.g. Codex, AOAC, ISO, BIS, PFA etc.
• Experience with accreditation of BIS labs and BIS Lab Recognition Scheme is a plus.
• Excellent oral and written communications (English)
• International Travel (20%)
