Summary
You will serve as a PHARMACIST in the Branch Medical Clinic of NAVHOSP CORPUS CHRISTI. This announcement is being used to recruit qualified individuals, under the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Direct Hire Authority, authorized by 5 United States Code (U.S.C.), Section 3304 and 5 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 337, Subpart B. The Rule of Three, Veteran's Preference and traditional rating and ranking of applicants do not apply to the Direct Hire process
Responsibilities
• You will supervise professional aspects of labeling, drug selection, dispensing and maintaining quality standards for these procedures.
• You will advise patients on dosage regiment, side effects, storage requirements, and other special instructions.
• You will provide prompt responses to pharmaceutical problems and inquiries that may arise from physicians or health care providers.
• You will assure prescription compliance with command policy and applicable federal and state statutes and regulations.
Qualifications
Education
A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (external link) (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (external link) at the time the degree was obtained.
Licensure
Applicants must be licensed to practice pharmacy in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
• Experience dispensing drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners;
• Experience advising patients on the selection, dosages, interactions, and side effects of medications;
• Experience compounding prescriptions from physicians, and other licensed practitioners;
• Experience screening prescriptions for proper dosage and usage; and
• Experience establishing medication-handling procedures for the storage and preservation of medications.

Conditions of Employment
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
- New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
- You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. You will be required to meet any applicable credentialing or privileging requirements prior to appointment.
- Selectee must obtain and maintain a current Pharmacist license.
