Candidates who wish to get a chance for Lectureship and for Junior Research Fellowship just after completion of their post-graduation, must appear in CSIR NET Exam.
CSIR NET (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research National Eligibility Test) is an entrance exam through which deserving candidates are awarded for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and for Lectureship.
To appear in this exam, you must have to complete your master’s with minimum 55% aggregate marks or should be pursuing in last year of your post-graduation.

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) conducts the NET exam on the bi-yearly basis to examine the knowledge required for holding the position of Lecturers/professors/ associates/ research fellows at India’s reputed universities.

As per the latest notification CSIR NET 2018 will be held on 17th June 2018.

Candidates having or pursuing their Master’s degree in Science Stream are only eligible to take this exam.

They should have minimum 55% aggregate marks in Masters’ if they are from General/ OBC Category or if they belong to SC/ST/PwD categories they should have scored minimum 50% aggregate.

To apply for the CSIR NET exam candidate’s maximum age should be 28 years. SC/ST/OBC/PWD/female applicants have upto 5 years relaxation in age criteria.

First of all, just understand that if you want to go for higher studies or lectureship in Pharmacy, GPAT is highly recommended.

NET is not mandatory for pharmacy professionals but additionally, if you will qualify then you will get chance to enter in certain lifesciences research areas which requires NET compulsory.
