Established in 1984, the CSIR-Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTech) is one among the chain of 38 national laboratories, 6 units and 39 outreach centres of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research. Set-up to be a fore-runner in the niche domain of microbial biotechnology, the Institute in its initial years functioned from a start-up laboratory that provided a truly world-class R&D ambience in an area of over 10,000 sq. ft. to its researchers. In September, 1989, upon completion of the permanent campus, the Institute shifted to occupy an area of about 47 acres, of which the labs covered 22 acres and the residential campus 25 acres.

Project Titled:- “ENDOCORE PROTECT-Harnessing core and vertically transmitted endophytes for multi-factorial bio-protection against major pathogens of rice and sugarcane.

Essential Qualification:-
Masters/ Integrated Masters in Natural or Agricultural or Pharmaceutical Sciences/ MVSc/ Animal Sciences.
OR
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University.
Desirable Qualification:-
Experience in handling microbes, molecular identification, phenotypic characterization and preservation. Experience in molecular biology techniques i.e. DNA isolation, RNA isolation, PCR, RT-PCR, Sanger sequencing, microbial genomics, etc.
Upper Age limit (years):- 35
Relaxation in the age limit for the candidates belonging to the category of SC/ ST/ PwBD/ Women and the category of OBC shall be 05 years and 03 years respectively.
Monthly Emoluments:-
1. Rs.31,000/- +HRA for those candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR NET incl. lectureship/ assistant professorship or GATE OR those who have qualified National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments like DBT/DST or equivalent and/or their Agencies/Institutions.
2. Rs.25,000/- +HRA for others who do not fall under (1) above.
