National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar is an autonomous research institute under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, affiliated with Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI). Established in 2007, NISER focuses on advanced education and research in fundamental sciences, including biology, chemistry, mathematics and physics, along with interdisciplinary areas. The institute offers integrated and doctoral programmes and conducts frontier research through its specialized schools and research facilities.
Post: Project Research Scientist-I (NM)
Indian nationals are invited for one (01) temporary position of Project Research Scientist-I (NM) under the project “Therapeutic Potential of Carnosic Acid in decreasing Astrocytic TREK1-mediated Excitotoxic Alzheimer's Disease” in the School of Biological Sciences, NISER, Bhubaneswar funded by ICMR, Govt. of India.
Essential Qualifications: Postgraduate degree, including an Integrated Postgraduate degree, in Life Sciences/ Chemistry/ Molecular Biology/Genetics/Genomics/Bioinformatics/Zoology/Biotechnology or an equivalent discipline.
The above qualification must be obtained from a recognized University/Institute.
Desired Qualification: Research experience in relevant chemical or biochemical, characterization techniques with a background in chemistry will be desirable. Experience in interdisciplinary research involving chemical and/or biological systems will be an added advantage.
Monthly Emoluments: ₹56,000/- pm plus HRA as per rules
AGE: 35 years as on 30.09.2026, age relaxation to entitled categories as per GOI rules.
The above position is purely temporary for a period of 1 year or completion of project whichever is earlier and strictly co-terminus with the project. It would, therefore, not confer any right/claim, implicit, or explicit for consideration/absorption against any NISER post.
