National Chemical Laboratory Pune, established in 1950, is a constituent laboratory of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). CSIR-NCL is a science and knowledge based research, development and consulting organization. It is internationally known for its excellence in scientific research in chemistry and chemical engineering as well as for its outstanding track record of industrial research involving partnerships with industry from concept to commercialization.

Applications are invited online for filling up of position on a purely temporary basis, in the prescribed proforma. The details of the Sponsored Project under which engagement is proposed to be made is as under.

Senior Project Associate
No. of Position : 1
Minimum prescribed educational Qualifications : i) Master’s Degree in Science Communication, or Master’s/Integrated Master’s Degree in Natural, Agricultural or Pharmaceutical Sciences; MVSc; or Animal Sciences OR Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technology or Medicine from a recognised University or equivalent; AND Three years’ experience in Research and Development in industrial and academic institutions, Science and Technology Organisations, or scientific activities and services; OR 
ii) Master’s/Integrated Master’s Degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognised University OR Doctoral Degree in Science/Pharma/MD/MS from a recognised University or equivalent AND Two years’ experience in Research and Development in industrial and academic institutions, Science and Technology Organisations, or scientific activities and services.
Desirable Qualification/ experience, if any : At least two years of directly relevant experience in science outreach, science communication, science education, informal science learning, educational programme implementation or related scientific and educational activities will be preferred. Experience in independently designing and conducting hands-on science workshops, experimental demonstrations, laboratory-learning activities, science camps, student- engagement programmes or teacher-capacity-building workshops is desirable. Candidates should have a good understanding of school science curricula, particularly chemistry at secondary, higher-secondary or undergraduate-entry level, and the ability to explain scientific concepts clearly and engagingly to students, teachers and other non-specialist audiences. Experience in developing safe, low-cost, student-friendly experiments, models, demonstrations, activity kits or teaching-learning materials in chemistry and allied areas will be an advantage. Experience in coordinating with schools, colleges, educational bodies, scientists, community organisations or other institutional partners; preparing educational material, activity manuals, experiment protocols, reports, proposals, presentations and feedback documentation; and developing digital outreach content, short videos, posters or online workshop resources will be desirable. Good written and oral communication skills in English are essential; knowledge of Hindi and/or Marathi along with proficiency in MS-Office, Canva, designing tools will be an added advantage.

Job requirement : 
The incumbent will support planning, design, implementation, coordination and documentation of science-outreach and experiential-learning programmes for school and college students, teachers and the public. The work will include development and conduct of safe, low-cost, curriculum-linked experiments, demonstrations, models, activity kits and workshop modules, particularly in chemistry and allied areas. Responsibilities will include organising science workshops, laboratory-learning sessions, school visits, student-engagement programmes, science camps, teacher-training programmes, laboratory visits and student–scientist interactions. The incumbent will coordinate with schools, teachers, students, scientists and other partners; assist in project planning, procurement, maintenance of activity materials and consumables, programme scheduling, participant- feedback compilation and periodic progress reporting. The incumbent will prepare activity manuals, worksheets, experiment protocols, presentations, resource kits, participant databases, feedback forms, reports, photographs and other programme documentation. Support may also be required for preparation of digital outreach material, online workshop content and urgent remote coordination, documentation or reporting activities.
Consolidated emoluments per month : (i) 42,000/- + HRA

Project Associate-I

Minimum prescribed educational Qualifications : Master's / Integrated Masters in Natural or Agricultural Sciences/MVSc / Animal Sciences or /Computer Science/Computer Applications OR Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent
Desirable Qualification/ experience, if any : Demonstrated practical knowledge and preferably prior experience in designing, developing, deploying and maintaining professional, responsive, secure and user- friendly websites or web applications is desirable. Experience with institutional, educational, scientific, corporate or public-facing websites, including mobile- responsive layouts, clear navigation, accessibility, visual consistency and enhancement of user experience, will be an advantage. Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and responsive web-design principles is desirable. Knowledge of Java, Node.js, React or another suitable modern front-end framework, and familiarity with website content-management systems, will be an added advantage. Experience in database design, data management, online forms and digital workflows using SQL, MongoDB, Firebase or equivalent platforms is desirable. Experience in managing online registration, participant databases, feedback forms, automated emails, certificate generation, dashboards, content repositories, media galleries, resource-download pages, reports and data-visualisation modules will be advantageous. Knowledge of Windows Server, IIS Manager, hosting environments, domain/DNS configuration, SSL certificates, server-side troubleshooting, backups, access control, application monitoring and PM2 is desirable. Familiarity with Git or other version-control systems, cybersecurity best practices, data privacy, secure handling of personal information and website-backup procedures will be an advantage. Applicants should preferably furnish links to at least two websites, web applications, dashboards or digital platforms developed, substantially redesigned or maintained by them, with a brief statement of their specific contribution.
Age Limit* : 35 
Job requirement : The incumbent will develop, maintain, update, troubleshoot and secure the Jigyasa website, portal and associated web applications; manage digital systems for school registration, programme scheduling, participant records, feedback collection, content management, data compilation and reporting; and maintain databases and digital archives of project activities and resources. The work will include web-application development using Java, HTML, CSS and JavaScript; database design and management using SQL and MongoDB Compass; website deployment, server-side support, access management, backups, security practices and technical documentation. Technical support for online/hybrid programmes and other time-sensitive digital requirements, including remote support where necessary, will also be required.
Consolidated emoluments per month : (i) 31,000/- + HRA those candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC / ICAR / ICMR NET incl. lectureship/ assistant professorship or GATE OR those who have qualified National level examinations conducted by central Government Departments like DBT/ DST or equivalent and/or their Agencies/ Institutions. (ii) 25,000 + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above

Project Associate-I
Minimum prescribed educational Qualifications : Master's Degree in Science/Natural or Agricultural Sciences/ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or Masters in Science Communication or equivalent 
Desirable Qualification/ experience, if any : Demonstrated interest in science outreach, science communication, science education, experiential learning or public engagement with science is desirable. Experience of conducting or assisting in hands-on science demonstrations, activity-based learning sessions, laboratory visits, workshops, science camps, student-engagement programmes or educational events for school and/or college students will be an advantage. Familiarity with safe, low-cost, hands-on and curriculum-linked science experiments, demonstrations, models, puzzles, activity kits or teaching-learning resources, preferably in chemistry and allied areas, is desirable. Candidates should be able to communicate scientific concepts clearly, accurately and engagingly to students, teachers and other non-specialist audiences. Good written English and the ability to assist in preparing science-based documents, reports, articles, newsletters, short outreach stories, scripts, captions and educational content are desirable. Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint is essential, while familiarity with Canva or similar tools for preparing posters, presentations, infographics and outreach communication material will be an added advantage. Experience in photography, basic videography, preparation of short videos or photo documentation for outreach programmes will be advantageous. Organisational ability and willingness to coordinate with students, teachers, schools, scientists, vendors and institutional teams are desirable. Relevant internship, fellowship, volunteer work or project involvement of at least six months in science outreach, teaching, science communication, educational programme implementation or a related activity will be preferred and may be considered for shortlisting.Proficiency in MS-Office, Canva, designing tools is preferable.

The incumbent will also assist in preparing articles, newsletters, scripts, posters, presentations and digital content, and provide material for website updates and online/hybrid events. 
Consolidated emoluments per month : (i) 31,000/- + HRA those candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC / ICAR / ICMR NET incl. lectureship/ assistant professorship or GATE OR those who have qualified National level examinations conducted by central Government Departments like DBT/ DST or equivalent and/or their Agencies/ Institutions. (ii) 25,000 + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above

The engagement will be coterminous with the tenure of sponsored project subject to satisfactory performance or conduct of the appointee, as the case may be. The engagement will be purely on temporary basis and shall not be CSIR/NCL appointment, temporary or otherwise and shall not entitle the appointee to any right/claim whatsoever, implicit or explicit, for his/her consideration against any CSIR-NCL post/fellowship.

The prescribed educational qualifications are a bare minimum and merely possessing of same will not entitle candidates to be called for interview. Where number of applications received in response to this Notice of engagement is large, it may not be convenient or possible to interview all the candidates. Based on the recommendation of the Screening Committee, the Project Leader may restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview to reasonable limits after taking into consideration qualifications and experience over and above the minimum qualifications prescribed in the Notice. Therefore, it will be in the interest of the candidates, to mention all the qualifications and experience in the relevant field on date of advertise.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear before the Selection Committee for an online interview. For online interview URL link will be provided to shortlisted candidate later via email on or before 21/09/2026.

Interview will be conducted on 22/09/2026 from 2:30 PM online through a suitable medium such as Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Cisco WebEx etc.

No interview call letter will be issued separately. 
No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing for the interview. 
Selected candidates will have to join duty immediately on receipt of the offer of engagement.
