CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (CSIR-IHBT), Palampur, is a constituent laboratory of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), under the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. The institute is engaged in research and development focused on the sustainable utilization of Himalayan bioresources. Its research areas include biotechnology, bioinformatics, agriculture, medicinal and aromatic plants, food technology, and microbial resources. CSIR-IHBT works towards developing technologies and products with applications in healthcare, agriculture, food, and other industrial sectors. The institute also promotes innovation, technology development, and the utilization of Himalayan biological resources for societal and economic benefits.
Position: Project Associate PAT-II
CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology, Palampur invites online applications from the eligible and interested candidates for the following position(s) on purely temporary basis and co-terminus with the duration of the project as detailed below:
Maximum Age (as on last date of receipt of application): 35 Years as on 30.09.2026
Stipend Per Month / Consolidated:
(a) Rs. 35,000/- + 10%HRA for those candidates who have qualified CSIR- UGC / ICAR / ICMR NET incl. lectureship / assistant professorship or GATE OR those who have qualified National level examinations con- ducted by Central Govt. Departments like DBT/DST or equivalent and/or Agencies/ Institutions
(b) Rs. 28,000/- + 10%HRA for others who do not fall under (a) above
Essential Qualification:
M.Sc. Chemistry / Industrial Chemistry / Pharmacy / B.Tech / B.E. Chemical / Industrial Engg. from a recognized university. OR M.E. / M.Tech. Chemical / Industrial Engg. and 2 years’ research experience in R&D in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services
Desirable Qualification:
Should have operating & working knowledge of analytical equipment such as HPLC, GC,, FTIK, NMK etc. along with associated softwares.

The number of positions as advertised may vary depending upto the suitability of candidates and access needs of the candidates in the project.

General Instructions
1. All interested candidates shall have to fill up the application form only as per the format annexed and send it in a single PDF file through the prescribed e-mail ID shown against the position.
2. The relaxation in the age limit for candidates belonging to the categories of SC/ST/PwBD/Women and OBC shall be 05 years and 03 years respectively, or as per Government of India instructions issued from time to time.
3. Engagement under any of these positions shall be on behalf of the sponsoring agency and shall be temporary and co-terminus with the tenure of the project or 06 years, whichever is earlier. Such engagement shall not provide any right/claim for regularization against a permanent post of CSIR.
4. The performance of the Project Staff would be reviewed after every six-month period and anyone not found up to the mark may be terminated.
5. In case of selection, the information provided by the candidate in the attached proforma shall be verified from the original documents. If any information provided is found to be false or incorrect, the offer of engagement shall be liable to be cancelled immediately.
6. Incomplete applications, late applications, applications received through any other mode, and applications for multiple posts in a single application form will not be accepted and shall be summarily rejected.
7. All applicants must fulfill all the essential requirements of the position(s) as well as other conditions stipulated in the advertisement as on the last date of submission of application.
8. It is compulsory for all applicants to fill up all the columns of the proforma very carefully before submission. No other format/proforma of application shall be accepted.
9. In case of Universities/Institutes awarding CGPA/SGPA/OGPA grades etc., candidates are requested to convert the same into percentage based on the formula prescribed by their University/Institute.
