The National Institute of Immunology (NII) is committed to advanced research with a view to understand body's defense mechanisms for developing modalities of immune system manipulation that can intervene with disease processes. The institute’s research thrust areas under immunology and related disciplines cluster in four main themes, namely, infection and immunity, molecular design, gene regulation and reproduction and development, where cutting edge research in modern biology is being carried out employing multiple overlapping disciplines of biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology and structural biology.

Name of the Project : “Structural and Dynamic studies of SARS-CoV-2 proteins” funded by DBT

Educational Qualifications : M.Sc (Bioinformatics / Biophysics / Biochemistry / Biotechnology) or Master's degree in any other stream of Biological/Physical/Computational Sciences or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine or Equivalent. Must have qualified GATE or NET-JRF or equivalent national- level fellowship examination for JRF position.

Desirable : Preference will be given to candidates with hands-on experience in at least one of the following areas: molecular biology, cell biology (bacterial and mammalian cell culture), protein biochemistry, and structural biology.

Job Description : The JRF will perform cloning, overexpression, purification, and crystallization of proteins for structure determination.

Emoluments : Rs. 37,000/- per month plus 27% HRA (As per DST OM dated 26.06.2023)
