The Institute for Stem Cell Science & Regenerative Medicine, Bangalore is an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. BRIC- inStem’s mandate is to establish collaborative research programs in the field of stem cell biology, regeneration, and repair in development and disease, with an emphasis on translation. To develop strengths in focused areas, research at BRIC-inStem is driven through collaborative interdisciplinary teams, addressing questions that are beyond the scope of a single laboratory. 

Postdoctoral fellow (Under India Alliance Senior Fellowship to Sunil Laxman)

BRIC-inStem invites applications (online) from eligible candidates for contractual position of following Scientific position in the laboratory of Prof. Sunil Laxman. We are looking for dedicated professionals who are result-oriented, can assimilate, analyze and communicate data effectively and are excellent team players capable of working in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.

Qualification & Experience
• PhD in chemistry, chemical biology, biological sciences or computational sciences 
• Strong background in chemical biology, and the use of chemical probes and proteomics. 
• Required expertise in quantitative mass spectrometry (with demonstrated expertise of instrument handling). 
• Expertise in setting up and building high/super resolution fluorescence microscopy based imaging for quantitative cell biology. 
• Expertise in working with multiple cell lines, including stable expression and manipulation, CRISPR based engineering, and high/super resolution microscopy and data analysis. 
• computational skills, including basic programming capabilities, and working with R.

Job Description
The project is in quantitative and systems cell biology, to address fundamental regulation redox-based control of metabolic state, as well of mitochondrial form, function, in metazoan cell models.

Tenure : Contractual appointment for up to one year, renewable based on requirement and review of progress, and requirement of the Grant.

9. The incumbent will be required to conform to the rules and regulations of DBT-inStem in force from time to time and follow the discipline rules of the institute failing which the contract may be withdrawn at any point in time.
