The Health & Family Welfare Department of the State Government has been vested with the responsibility of maintaining and developing the health care system in West Bengal. Public health, sanitation and hospitals are the exclusive responsibilities of the State. State provides financial and managerial support for the basic health care support and infrastructural facilities at the rural level, while the State level super specialty Medical Colleges & Hospitals predominantly provides the ambulatory care services.

Applications are invited in prescribed format, as enclosed herewith, from Indian citizens for recruitment to the post of Research Assistant, purely on contractual basis, sanctioned under the DHR/ICMR-funded research project tilled "Pan India surveillance foe respiratory viruses through DIIR-ICMR VRJ)L Network - strengthening VRDLs in West Bengal and Kerala" at VRDL, Department of Microbiology. Educational Qualifications
Essential : * • Post Graduate degree in Microbiology or Molecular Biology or Virology or Biotechnology from any Govt, recognized University.
Desirable
• Higher academic qualification in related field.
• Working knowledge of MS Office and data management.
• Preference will be given to candidates familiar with local languages and those with related project work experience.
Remuneration per month : Rs.31,000/- (Consolidated)
Terms & Conditions
1) The above mentioned post is purely temporary. Initially the contract will be valid up to one year from the joining, renewal for subsequent years till the closure of the project will be based on the performance shown by the candidate.
2) Selection will be made by interview by the Institute level recruitment committee.
3) Upper age limit is 45 years as on 01.09.2025
4) These are purely contractual posts and the selected candidates will not have any claim whatsoever for continuation.
5) If the performance of the appointee is not satisfactory, appointment will be terminated at any time without further communication.
6) No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
