Principal Project Associate (ANRF-PPA)

Essential Qualification(s)
Four years Bachelor's Degree (4 year B.Sc. degree as per National Education Policy) in Natural or Agricultural Sciences or equivalent from recognized Institute/ University AND Eight years' experience (after obtaining required degree) in R&D in industrial and academic institutions or Science & Technology organisations and scientific activities and services 
OR Master's Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences or equivalent from recognized Institute/ University AND Eight years' experience (after obtaining required degree) in R&D in industrial and academic institutions or Science & Technology organisations and scientific activities and services 
OR BVSC/ BPharm or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering & Technology or Medicine from a recognised University or equivalent from recognized Institute/ University AND Eight years' experience (after obtaining required degree) in R&D in industrial and academic institutions or Science & Technology organisations and scientific activities and services and services, out of which four years should be in science and technology program, planning, development and co-operation

Desirable Qualification(s)
Candidates with prior experience working on Ganges River dolphins in freshwater river systems are preferred. They should be capable of leading rigorous surveys and fieldwork in remote dolphin habitats with limited logistical support. Statistical analysis and spatial ecological modelling. Research publications in peer-reviewed national/ international journals OR They should have sound knowledge of various sampling techniques for water, sediments, and biota and proficiency in using ecotoxicology-related analytical instruments (e.g., GC- MS, LC-MS/MS, AAS, ICP-MS). Research publications in peer- reviewed national/ international journals OR Candidates with prior experience in DNA extraction, PCR analysis, and analysis of genetic data, especially sequence and microsatellite analysis. Research publications in peer-reviewed national/ international journals 
Description of Work 
Conduct field surveys on Ganges River dolphins, collecting ecological data, monitoring river dynamics, conducting biodiversity assessment, data analysis, and technical reporting. OR The candidate responsible for planning and overseeing systematic sampling of water, sediments, and biota in riverine habitats, ensuring the application of advanced extraction techniques, analysis, supervising field teams, and managing, interpreting, and reporting analytical data for comprehensive ecological risk assessments OR Candidates will carry out and assist in molecular biology aspects related to the conservation of Ganges River dolphins and associated fauna and their prey in general, data analysis, and report writing under the supervision of Project Scientists and Investigators.


Senior Project Associate (ANRF-SPA)

AND four years' experience (after obtaining required degree) in R&D in industrial and academic institutions or S&T organisations and scientific activities and services OR Master's Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences/ BVSC/ BPharm or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognised University or equivalent, 
AND four years' experience (after obtaining required degree) in R&D in industrial and academic institutions or S&T organisations and scientific activities and services
OR Master's Degree in Engineering & Technology from a recognised university or equivalent, AND two years' experience (after obtaining required degree) in R&D in industrial and academic institutions or S&T organisations and scientific activities and services. Candidates with prior experience working on Ganges River dolphins in freshwater river systems are preferred. They should be capable of leading rigorous surveys and fieldwork in remote dolphin habitats with limited logistical support. Research publications in peer-reviewed national/ international journals. 
OR They should have sound knowledge of various sampling techniques for water, sediments, and biota and proficiency in using ecotoxicology-related analytical instruments (e.g., GC- MS, LC-MS/MS, AAS, ICP-MS). Research publications in peer- reviewed national/ international journals. 
OR Candidates with prior experience in DNA extraction, PCR analysis, and analysis of genetic data, especially sequence and microsatellite. Research publications in peer-reviewed national/ international journals. 
OR Candidates with previous experience in GIS/RS software such as ERDAS Imagine, QGIS & ArcGIS, strong modelling and data analytics skills will be preferred. Research publications in peer- reviewed national/ international journals. 
OR Knowledge of MS Office & MS Excel. Experience in handling all the project management work. 
Description of Work 
Conduct field surveys on Ganges River dolphins, collecting ecological data, monitoring river dynamics, conducting biodiversity assessment, data analysis, and technical reporting. 
OR The candidate must be capable of systematically sampling water, sediments, and biota in remote riverine habitats, using different extraction techniques and managing analytical data for ecological risk assessment. 
OR Candidates will carry out and assist in molecular biology aspects related to the conservation of Ganges River dolphins and associated fauna and their prey in general, data analysis, and report writing under the supervision of Project Scientists and Investigators 
OR Develop and manage GIS databases for Ganges River Dolphin habitat monitoring. Conduct spatial analysis of riverine ecosystems using GIS and remote sensing tools. Prepare high- resolution habitat maps and assess changes in river morphology, sandbars, and water flow dynamics.
OR Candidate will implement project activities, maintenance of data, carry out administrative work related to office management for the project and will support the field activities.


Project Associate – II (ANRF-PA-II)

4. An Application Fee of Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) for the applicant(s) belonging to General Category shall have to be deposited through an online mode. However, candidate belongs to category SC/ST/OBC/EWS (Non-General Category) and Physically Challenged (PC) are exempted from the said Application Fee but shall have to pay Rs.100/- as ‘Application Processing’ Fee and shall be payable through Online/ Electronic Mode to the following Bank Account :

5. Applicant shall also have to attach a copy of the Application Processing Fee(s) deposited in the above-mentioned account along with the Application Form. Failing to attach the same shall lead to rejection of the application. Application/ Processing Fee are non-refundable once paid, even if the application is later rejected/ not short-listed or the applicant withdraws their application.
6. A candidate may apply for a maximum of two advertised positions with relevance to his/her academic education and, as per essential and desirable requisites of an advertised position(s). 
7. Candidate applying for more than one position shall have to submit separate Application Forms along with the self-attested supporting documents and Fee for each position. Failing to this your one of the application for which supporting documents are not attached will be rejected by the screening committee.

9. Candidate(s) presently working/engaged with any WII’s project or research activity or Ph.D. scholars must ensure to attach a “No Objection Certificate” (not more than one month older than last date of application) from their concerned PI/ Nodal Officer, as the case may be. Similarly, the candidate earlier worked at WII has to produce ‘No Dues’ certificate obtained from WII. 
10. Shortlisting of applicants for online interview will be based on essential qualification, age limit, percentage of marks in Bachelor’s/ Master’s Degree, specialization relevance in Masters, research experience and (Publications- Paper published in journals, books Paper Presented in Workshops/ Seminars/ Symposiums/Conferences), as per WII rules).

12. A check-list of following self-attested documents shall be duly filled in the attached application form viz., Documents/testimonials; Copies of relevant research publications; Extracurricular activities etc. 
13. Mere fulfilment of the minimum advertised qualification and experience requirement DOES NOT automatically entitle an applicant to be called for an interview. The decision of the Institute in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance, or rejection of the application and mode of selection will be final and binding on the candidates. No inquiry or correspondence will be entertained from individual or agency. 
14. Based on the above stated screening criteria, top ten (10) short-listed candidates against each respective advertised project/position shall be called for interview(s). 
15. A duly constituted Selection Committee will conduct the recruitment process. 
16. All original documents/certificates must be produced at the time of joining for necessary verification. 
17. At the time of the verification of original documents or even after selection, if it is found that the applicant has attempted to wilfully conceal, misrepresent or canvass the facts, such applicant will not be considered for selection, and due action will be taken. Relaxation in the upper age limit shall be allowed in accordance with the Government of India, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions (Department of Personnel & Training) OM No. 15012/2/2010- Estt. (D)dated 27.03.2012, as amended from time to time. However, the categories of upper-age relaxations are as follows: a. Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes up to 5 years. b. Other Backward Class (OBC) up to 3 years. 
18. The positions advertised are purely temporary/contractual for the project period as specify in the advertisement. They will stand abolished after the completion of the project. 
19. Candidates not found suitable for a particular post as advertised may be considered for a position at a lower grade as per recommendations of the Interview Committee. In this regard, recommendations/approval of the Interview Committee shall be considered as final. 
20. The Institute's rules and regulations govern the project's tenure.

23. After announcing the results, the candidate should join the project immediately.
