Established in 1984, the Institute of Microbial Technology is one among the chain of 37 national laboratories, 6 units and 39 outreach centres of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research. Set-up to be a fore-runner in the niche domain of microbial biotechnology, the Institute in its initial years functioned from a start-up laboratory that provided a truly world-class R&D ambience in an area of over 10,000 sq. ft. to its researchers.

Essential Qualification:- Masters / Integrated Masters in Natural or Agricultural or Pharmaceutical Sciences / MVSc/ Animal Sciences. OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University.
Desirable:- Experience in handling microbes, identification, characterization and preservation. Knowledge and exposure to molecular biology techniques i.e. DNA isolation, PCR and sampling etc will be an asset.
Monthly Emoluments :- Rs. 31,000/- +HRA for those candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR NET incl. lectureship/ assistant professorship or GATE OR those who have qualified National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments like DBT/DST or equivalent and/or their Agencies/Institutions.
2. Rs.25,000/- +HRA for others who do not fall under (1) above.
Upper Age limit:- 35 years Relaxation in the age limit for the candidates belonging to the category of SC/ ST/ PwBD/ Women and the category of OBC shall be 05 years and 03 years respectively.
