Life Sciences, Microbiology, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology openings for detecting Drug-Resistant priority pathogens at PGIMER

The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who considered the institutions of scientific knowledge as temples of learning and the places of pilgrimage.

Applications are invited for filling up the following posts on a purely contractual basis for the research project titled “Innovative Technologies for Detecting Drug-Resistant Priority Pathogens in India to Improve Patient Outcomes," funded by ICMR-New Delhi, under the supervision of Dr. Neelam Taneja, Professor and Head, Department of Medical Microbiology, PGIMER, Chandigarh.

Project Research Scientist -III (Non-Medical) (One Post)
Qualification : Essential : First Class Post Graduate Degree in Microbiology with PhD in relevant subject and with experience in Medical Microbiology and Molecular Biotechnology
Desirable : Candidate must have at least three publications in the relevant field. Must have experience in handing clinical
Consolidated Remuneration : As per ICMR rules
Age Limit in years : 45

Project Research Scientist -III (Bioinformatician) (One Post)
Qualification : Essential : First Class Post Graduate Degree in Bioinformatics with PhD in relevant subject and with three years in WGS analysis, and with knowledge of various bioinformatic tools.
Desirable : Candidate must have at least three publications in the relevant field. Must have experience in handing clinical

Age Limit in years : 45

Project Technical Support-II (Four posts)
Qualification : Essential : B.Sc./M.Sc in Life sciences (Biotechnology, Microbiology, Medical Laboratory Technology)
Desirable : Experience in sample collection, sample processing, AST and basic computer knowledge.
Consolidated Remuneration : As per ICMR rules
Age Limit in years : 30
