Senior Research fellow (02 posts)
Project title : Development of the Enzyme portfolios for the application in green catalysis to produce API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients) and high value biomolecules
Pis : Dr. Sudheer Pamidimarri and Prof. Sudhir P. Singh
Eligibility Minimum Qualifications :
Master’s degree in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Microbiology Bioinformatics/ Biotechnology/ Life science/Biomedical Sciences/Bio-Engineering passed with minimum 55% marks.
Desirable Qualifications :
• Protein engineering/protein modelling/database mining and analysis etc.
• Experience in Cloning and characterization.
• Heterologous protein expression purification.
• Enzyme kinetics studies and characterization.
• Biocatalysis application via enzymatic process.

Project title : Enhancing Climate Resilience and Nutrient-Usc Efficiency in Brassica , juncea through Genetic, Genomic, and Microbial Approaches

Eligibility Minimum Qualifications :
M.Sc./M.Tech. (Biotechnology / Plant Biotechnology / Genetics & Plant Breeding / Molecular Biology / Life Sciences / Agricultural Biotechnology. Genomics / Bioinformatics) with a minimum of 55% marks.
Desirable Qualifications :
• CRISPR/Cas Genome Editing & Plant Transformation - sgRNA design, vector construction, plant tissue culture, and regeneration (preferably in mustard Brassica juncea).
• Molecular Biology Skills - PCR. qPCR. sequencing, genotyping. gene expression analysis, and related assays.
• Genomic Data Analysis - variant discovery from EMS mutants and germplasm. SNP genotyping. NGS data processing, gene mapping, GWAS. and Comparative genomics.
• Bioinformatics & Programming - target prediction, off-target analysis, metagenomic pipelines, functional annotation, with working knowledge ot Python and R.
• Gene Chip & Microarray Work - design, validation, and functional annotation of gene chips.
• Microbiology & Mierobiome Research - microbial isolation/characterization, development of microbial consortia, mierobiome profiling, and meiagenomics.

Project title : Establishment of genome editing platform for humanized mice model development and biopharmaceutical production in milk of farm animals

Eligibility Minimum Qualifications :
Master’s degree in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Microbiology/Life- Science/Biomedical Sciences/Bioengineering/Veterinary Science, appearing/passed with minimum 55% marks.
Desirable Qualifications / Experience :
• Experience of molecular biology techniques such as PCR, qPCR, Oxford nanopore sequencing (ONP)/Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and high throughput data analysis.
• CRISPR/Cas9 based genome editing techniques including bioinformatics tools for guide RNA design, off-target prediction, and genome annotation.
• Recombinant protein expression, purification, western blotting, biochemical assays/immunoassays.
• Animal model generation or embryo manipulation (e.g., microinjection, in vitro fertilization) would be advantageous.
• Laboratory experience of MHC gene characterization in livestock/laboratory animals, or model species.
• Laboratory experience in MHC genotyping/allele sequencing/haplotype analysis.

Desirable Qualifications/Experience :
• Sound knowledge on experiments related to mineral-microbcs interactions, microbial physiology, biochemistry and elemental chemistry
• Handling anaerobic microbial cultures and consortia, Archaeal cultivation, analytical skills (GC, LC, Spectroscopy), microbial community analysis (metagenomics), genomic data analysis
• Knowledge on microbial consortia development and formulation, and preservation
• Enzyme activity studies and characterization
Age Limit : Up to 30 years on closing date of advertisement
Fellowship Duration : Until March 2026 (Extendable as per DST-GoG Approval)
Fellowship : Rs. 27,300/- per month as per DST, GoG guidelines.
General Terms and Conditions :
• Candidates will be shortlisted for interview based on their CV, qualifications and experience.
• Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview, and the candidates are required to attend at their own expenses, no TA/DA will be provided.
• This post is purely temporary up to March 2026, however extendable as per DST-GoG approval.
• Appointment will be made initially for 6 months and further extendable subject to satisfactory' performance. It would, therefore, not confer any right for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in the organization.
