Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST) is an Institution of National Importance under the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. Post : Junior Research Fellow - (Temporary)

For ANRF funded Project entitled “Characterization of the biofingerprint of the histomolecular subtypes of adult-type diffuse gliomas using Raman spectroscopy.” (P-5498).

Qualification & Experience (Essential) : 1. Post Graduate Degree (Biotechnology/Physics/Biochemistry).
2. NET or Equivalent qualified.
Qualification & Experience (Desirable) : 1. Prior experience with Raman spectroscopy.

Job description : 1. Obtaining consent from patients.
2. Collection of fresh glioma tissue from the Neurosurgery theatre and subjecting it to snap-freezing.
3. Collection of blood from the Neurosurgery theatre, separating the serum and storing the samples.
4. Preparation of slides and sera for Raman spectroscopy.
5. Submitting samples for performing Raman spectroscopy at Central
6. Analytical Facility, BMT Wing, Data analysis & manuscript writing.

Monthly emoluments : Rs. 37000/- + 18% HRA*
Age limit as on 01.10.2025 : 35 Years
Number of vacancies : Existing - 1 (ST Backlog-1) (In absence of eligible ST, UR will be considered).
Nature / Tenure of appointment : Temporary (Purely on contract), initially for a period of one year (likely to be extended till 09.10.2027) or till completion of the project, whichever is earlier.

*In case NET/equivalent qualified candidates are not available for selection, Non-NET candidates will be considered for selection at a lower remuneration of Rs.25000/- + 18% HRA, as Project Associate-/ as per the rules.
Those who fulfil the above requirements may report for Interview, as per the above schedule at the Ground floor of AMCHSS building, along with Bio-data, original certificates and copies of certificates to prove age, qualification and experience at the time of interview.
Caste Certificate (for ST) should be valid and in the prescribed format applicable for employment in Central Govt. Institutions issued by a Revenue Officer not below the rank of a Tahsildhar.

Note : Depending on the number of candidates, a written test of qualifying nature will be conducted for initial screening and only qualified candidates will be called for interview. Marks obtained in the written test, if conducted, will not be counted for final ranking.
