The National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (NIIST), Thiruvananthapuram, is a constituent Laboratory of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). Initially established in 1975 as a CSIR Complex, it was named as the Regional Research Laboratory in 1978 and later renamed as NIIST in 2007. Its mandate is to conduct research and development activities of the highest quality in areas related to effective utilization of resources of the region and of fundamental importance to the country.

This Institute invites eligible candidates for a Walk-in-interview for filling up the following purely temporary positions as detailed below

Project Research Scientist-II

No of post : One*
Qualification : Master’s degree in Biotechnology or Life Science from a recognized University or Equivalent with THREE years post- qualification experience in industry or academia or PhD in Biotechnology or Life Science from a recognized University.
Desirable : Research experience in cancer diagnostics-related nanoparticle-based probe development, including Raman and fluorescence spectroscopic techniques; and molecular biology techniques; expertise in cell culture and in vitro assays; and experience in clinical sample handling for diagnostic work.
Monthly Stipend : Rs.67,000/- + 20% HRA

Qualification : B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized Institution or University.
Desirable : Expertise in blood collection, plasma, serum separation from the blood for clinical research purposes, and proforma (documentation) in the area of cancer and diagnostics.
Monthly Stipend : Rs.20,000/- + 18% HRA

Qualification : Master’s degree in Biotechnology or Life Science from a recognized University or Equivalent, and THREE years of experience in R&D in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services.
Desirable : Research experience in cancer diagnostics–related nanoparticle-based probe development, including Raman and fluorescence spectroscopic techniques, and molecular biology techniques; expertise in cell culture and in vitro assays; and experience in clinical sample handling for diagnostic works.
Monthly Stipend : Rs.42,000/- + 18% HRA
Age Limit (Max. as on the date of Walk-in-interview) : 40 Years

Mode of Selection
Interested eligible candidates should report at CSIR-NIIST, Pappanamcode, Thiruvananthapuram at 09.00 AM, on the dates mentioned assign each post code. Candidates reaching after 09.30 AM will not be entertained. Only those whose final results have been declared as on the date of walk in interview will be eligible.
